Chapter 22 Docked Tail Dog

1

What appears in the distance is the most ordinary nomadic orc tribe camp. Orcs believe in the god of war and are quite wary. They often induce wars between tribes because of small things. These wars often do not intensify too much and cannot shake the root of a tribe. However, one of the wars is the war for the grassland. If two tribes start a war because of fighting for the grassland on which the other party relies for survival, it will often end in that one party is completely annexed and unwilling to surrender to victory.

Most of the losers of the person will transform into nomadic tribes and can only grazed on inferior grasslands. Sometimes, they inadvertently infringe on the interests of other fixed tribes, and will be expelled or even attacked. The consequences of these orc tribes that have lost their territory will often be integrated into a fixed tribe and become part of the other party because of the number of people. Only a very small number of nomadic tribes with a large number of remaining people have snatched the grasslands of other small tribes and transformed into fixed tribes to develop and grow.

The nomadic tribe in front of me is a typical example. Although their tents are called large tents, they are only compared to single tents. One tent can accommodate up to one or two people in a fixed tribe, which is completely incomparable to the huge tents of a fixed tribe that can accommodate more than ten or even dozens of people at the same time. Judging from the number of tents, all men, women, old and young in this group are counted, at most about twenty people, and there are not many livestock. There are basically no large livestock, all of them are small grassland sheep, with only more than sixty. This scale is considered the smallest even in the nomadic orc tribe.

The camping method of nomadic tribes is also different from that of fixed tribes. Their tents are closely spaced in a circle, and the flocks are raised on the inside of the tent, and the outside is surrounded by fences that look very old and have obviously been used many times to prevent wild beasts from attacking the flock. This camping method, on the basis of ensuring the safety of livestock to the greatest extent, also facilitates the movement of camps when the tribe migrates in the spring of the second year. It is a typical method on the grassland.

But now, the camp is very chaotic. A circle of flames has been ignited in the fence wall. This is a defensive measure that every tribe will set up when camping, designed to prevent the beasts from siege. When the adventure group saw this camp, two wooden fences inside the flame wall had been destroyed, and a gap was revealed in the defense circle. The inside of the gap was blocked by the orcs with several carriages to prevent the beasts outside from rushing into the camp. Outside the flame, more than a thousand short and hideous broken-tail dogs were drooling in their mouths, and their throats made an anxious harsh barking. They kept spinning around the camp.

The Broken-tailed Dog is a very ugly monster. It looks gray and covered with mud. Its lips are turned outward, revealing two rows of sharp teeth that are protruding outward. The tail is only a small bare piece, which looks like it has been cut off. This is also the origin of the name Broken-tailed Dog. This monster has no special skills, but its speed and strength are strengthened by magic energy, so it is called a monster. However, once they gather into a giant group of beasts, they will become extremely fierce and brave. The more than a thousand broken-tailed Dogs in front of them may not even be willing to conflict with them head-on.

"Wait. Carriage?" Five adventurers had already gotten off the magic motorcycle. Catherine, who had observed a distance of hundreds of meters, was suddenly stunned and discovered a key that she had ignored: "Why don't I remember that nomadic orcs would use carriages to transport things?"

"Maybe, that's a ox cart?" Freya couldn't think of the reason, and began to make random guesses.

"They don't need a bull cart, either." Catherine rolled her: "And they don't look like they don't look like they are ox."

"That... is it a sheep cart?" Lina teased: "They don't have cows, so there must be sheep."

"Don't make trouble." Catherine knocked Lina's head and her face became serious: "It seems that there is no other danger. We can go up and help them. Although these broken-tailed dogs can't cause harm to us even if they fight their lives. But it's different to the ordinary orcs inside, so it's better to end the battle as soon as possible."

"I'll do it." Vivian took off the staff from behind and stood behind Penis and Catherine with a staff, saying, "My magic is the most convenient way to deal with such a large group of weak monsters."

"You..." Catherine hesitated for a moment and shook her head, "Or you'd better take a rest and let Freya take action."

"She? As soon as she takes action, the camp will be overturned." Vivian said, "Sister, I'm not going to die soon. Don't think that I'm so fragile. As long as I don't have an attack, fighting with all my strength will not have any impact. And you have given me enough rest along the way, and I have no problem at all. And think about it, we may not go well when we go to the exploration and research center this time, and there are many strange things in the goblins. Don't forget what we had encountered in the sewer of the City of Innocence. If we encounter danger, will I still have to join the war? Don't hesitate, I can face it calmly, and don't take care of me like a patient."

"Okay, you're right, I'm thinking too much." Catherine nodded with a wry smile and said, "Then I'll leave these monsters in front to you. Just drive them away, and don't kill too much. After all, we're just trying to save people, not to massacre. Don't destroy the original environment on the grassland too much."

"I understand." Vivianen said, and took a few steps forward and was about to cast a spell. The barking of the beasts in the distance suddenly increased. You can see from a distance that several broken-tailed dogs who successfully broke into the camp suddenly screamed and flew out from behind the carriage. Although there were no wounds on them, many bones were smashed to pieces and could never stand up after they fell to the ground.

"Huh?" Panis looked moved and said strangely: "Although the Broken-tailed dog is not strong, it can knock five or six out of the camp so easily, and it is so miserable. This is not something that ordinary orcs in the nomadic tribe can do. It seems that there are really some secrets hidden in this nomadic tribe."

"Look, just like I said." Lina immediately said, "Maybe it's really a retired adventurer or mercenary. Oh, no, Freya said that the signal army is used, that is, a retired soldier or officer, who lives in seclusion here when he gets older."

Catherine sighed helplessly and made no comments. At this point, she could only admit that Lina's guess was likely to be close to the truth.

"I don't think so. If there were such a seclusion, this tribe wouldn't have become as miserable as it is now." Vivian retorted and shook his head and said, "What's going on? You'll know when the beasts are dispersed and then go over and ask."

"Vivian mode, fire." Vivian held up his staff and prepared silently for a while. Suddenly, the head of the staff pointed at the group of beasts from a distance and spit out a very simple chant. After the chant, a complex magic array appeared out of thin air. Although the magic array was not obvious due to the setting sun in the evening, you can still see that the magic array outline covered dozens of meters of space. After the magic array appeared, it began to flash. Each time it flashed, several burning flames shot out from the magic array and fell far into the range of the beasts.

Among the elemental spells of the destruction system, Vivian particularly prefers fire-attribute magic. Unfortunately, after being promoted to the legend, he sneaked into the deep sea and had no conditions to use it at all. Fortunately, he finally got rid of the troubles of the environment and could cast flames to his fullest. Although the magic in front of him seemed very close to the Meteor Fire Rain of the advanced mage, Panis and Freya, who are familiar with magic, can see that this is not a Meteor Fire Rain at all, but evolved from the most basic flame arrow. It is much smaller than Meteor Fire Rain in terms of consumption and casting time. Of course, the power is much smaller. After all, the falling flames are just simple burning, without the explosion effect of Meteor Fire Rain, and not as wide as the Meteor Fire Rain.

However, this simple flame with controllable direction can have miraculous effects in the current situation. Warcraft originally had a natural fear of flames, and the fur of these monsters is very easy to ignite. Often, when a ball of flame falls, a fire-ridden dog screams and runs around, and then ignites more similar people. With just one spell, it creates considerable chaos in the group of monsters, and causes hundreds of broken-tailed dogs to suffer varying degrees of damage.

The Broken-tailed Dog was very smart. He quickly discovered the attacker and immediately divided a part of it and rushed towards the adventure group. However, after a few steps, he was burned by the dense flames falling from the sky and fled in all directions. None of them could approach a hundred meters around the adventure group. So, under the flames spewed by the magic circle in the sky, the beast group was like a group of targets exposed to their vision, and could only continue to receive the baptism of the flames. After struggling for a few minutes, the heavy casualties finally exceeded the limit of the beast group. The Broken-tailed Dogs screamed and scattered, fleeing to the distance without looking back.

Vivian did not pursue, dispersed the magic circle condensed in the air, waved his staff, and a mist fell from the sky, extinguishing the grass ignited by the flames. Fortunately, it is early autumn, and the grass remains green, and the inside is full of water. The flames coming out of thin air did not cause too much combustion. If time goes to late autumn or winter, I am afraid this magic will cause a small-scale fire.

After extinguishing the remaining flames, Vivian clapped his hands and said easily: "Sister, this level of battle will not cause a lot of burden on me at all, you really don't have to worry too much."

"Even if this is the case, it's good to be careful. Then you should be careful and try not to fight with all your might." Catherine said, "Since the matter has been resolved, let's go and spend the night?"

"Of course." Panis looked at the camp in the distance with a smile: "I think I already know what is hidden in this camp. Unfortunately, Lina, you guessed it wrong."
