Chapter 336 Industrial Achievements (2)
The training for Japanese returnees will be divided into two parts. First, it is routine training. Although the education level of returnees is indeed an elite level in China in this era, neither the cognitive level nor the knowledge mastered still does not meet the requirements of the East China government. Because it is the system and operating model of the East China government are very different from that of the Qing court and Japan. In addition, due to the high level of education of returnees, it is also somewhat affected by the shortcomings of some Chinese traditional intellectuals, such as being highly keen, being self-righteous, being withdrawn and aloof, being talkative but not pragmatic, looking down on the lower-class people in society, etc.
Of course, these problems are not conducive to their work in the East China government. Therefore, training is not only to let them understand the system, process, working methods and attitudes of the East China government, but also to assess everyone and determine their suitable positions; the second stage is to conduct professional knowledge education and training before taking up the job after everyone's professional positions are allocated.
First, the returnees were divided into classes. Among the returnees, there were 35 women, who formed a single class, and the remaining more than 240 were divided into 5 classes equally. The class leader, deputy squad leader and group leader were selected to establish a class order.
The course mainly introduces the policy ideas of the East China government, with the ruling philosophy as the main one. Now the East China government has formed three basic dominant ideas, namely land reform, industrialization, and state-owned economy. Every morning and afternoon, 1-2 hours of sports training and military quality training, and a day of military skills training or competitions will be arranged every week. This can cultivate the physical fitness of returnees and increase their team spirit and collective consciousness; in addition, some social practices and visits will be arranged to let returnees see the construction achievements made by the East China government.
Three days later, the East China government organized returnees to visit Gaoliu Automobile Company. This was the first time that Gaoliu Automobile Company has been displayed to the public since its establishment.
Although these overseas returnees have been studying in Japan for more than one year, and some have been in Japan for 4 or 5 years, there are indeed very few who have visited factories in Japan. The main reason is that although there are many Chinese students in Japan, they are basically spontaneous, without a unified organizational plan, and have no clear learning goals. They can only determine the content of learning by the individual students, their personal enthusiasm, knowledge, and likes and dislikes. Therefore, most international students do not regard learning industry as their goal, so naturally they will not think of visiting factories, and Japan will not have such organizational arrangements.
Of course, some overseas returnees have been to some factories due to other reasons, such as finding people, jobs, etc., but because they do not have a clear understanding of industrialization, those who are interested only look at it briefly, and those who are not interested turn a blind eye. Therefore, it is basically the first time that everyone has organized and systematically visited the factory. During these three days, overseas returnees have systematically learned the historical development of the industrial revolution, and visiting the factory again is naturally different.
The production workshop of Gaoliu Automobile Company is more than 3,000 square meters, with hundreds of workers. It can assemble 6 different vehicles at the same time. The machines roar, deafening and steam attacking people. Some of the cars being assembled are only skeletons, while some have been roughly formed. Workers wearing various clothes shuttle back and forth in front of various work stations, performing their own responsibilities and orderly. But everyone seems to feel a sense of shock in their hearts, and this has an intuitive feeling of industrialization.
Someone from Gaoliu Automobile Company also introduced to overseas returnees that the machines and equipment currently used are purchased from Germany, while only the engines of the car are purchased from Germany, and all other accessories are produced within the East China government, while the structural design of the car is completely independently completed by the East China government, and even Germany buys it.
In fact, the automobile structure of this era is very simple. Except for the engine, there is basically no technical difficulty in other parts. Therefore, although the industrialization of the East China government has just begun, other accessories except the engine can be manufactured by themselves. In terms of automobile structural design, the East China government naturally far surpasses this era, such as engine front, rear-wheel drive, long-distance transmission shaft, suspension system, rearview mirror, etc., were the most common layouts on the automobile in the old time and space. However, in this era, they were all very excellent designs, which also made German engineers coming to Qingdao admire them. After learning about the technology and equipment of the German Mercedes-Benz, which provided Gaoli Automobile Company, came to Qingdao and carefully inspected Gaoliu Automobile's design. He thought that such a design was indeed very convenient and reasonable, so he finally decided to buy the Gaoliu Automobile Company's design.
After visiting the production workshop, the overseas returnees came to the outdoor test yard. At this time, two assembled cars were undergoing test tests. In the other training yard, more than 10 people were learning driving skills. The driving project was moved from the old time and space when it was not moved intact, such as starting uphill, parking on the side, turning on the right angle, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, turning on the Side, etc., so that the overseas returnees could enjoy the view.
Before we knew it, the morning time passed, and the visit of overseas returnees has not ended yet. In fact, the afternoon visit is the focus of today. It turned out that the fixed-wing aircraft research and development project jointly carried out by Gao Liu Automobile Company and the military has entered the formal test flight stage. This afternoon, so we made a special trip to organize overseas returnees to watch. The visit to automobile production is just an accompanying place.
After the establishment of Gao Liu Automobile Company, it immediately cooperated with the military to establish a fixed-wing aircraft research and development project team, which consisted of all helicopter pilots, a few aircraft enthusiasts, and brought more than 20 local students, totaling 63 people. The funds were transferred by the military.
In fact, the principle of a fixed-wing aircraft is not complicated. It is a propeller aircraft. Although the basic principle is to use the propeller at the head or tail of the aircraft to provide traction or thrust, the wing provides lift, the main wing flaps and tail wings control the rise and fall of the aircraft, and the vertical tail wing controls the direction of the aircraft. The most important part is the engine. Among aircraft enthusiasts in the old time and space, there was a saying that "as long as the engine is powerful, the door panel can fly to the sky."
Of course, the engine of the propeller aircraft is relatively simple, and ordinary gasoline or diesel engines are fine. The first successful aircraft made by the Wright brothers, Flyer One, was used as a 12-horsepower four-cylinder water-cooled gasoline engine.
However, the project team did not intend to use the engines of this era directly. The main reason is that the current engine power is too low and has no practicality, so they decided to use the engine of a car first. On the one hand, they accumulate experience in manufacturing aircraft and collect flight data; on the other hand, they also train pilots to use the engines of this era after the engine technology of this era is mature. And there is no need to wait for it to be too old. In the old time and space, in the Italian-Turkey War in 1911, the aircraft boarded the battlefield for the first time, which shows that the engine technology at that time has made great progress, and it is only 6 years away.
The East China government also attaches great importance to the research and development of fixed-wing aircraft. The Public Asset Management Department also allocates four cars to the project team to transform the aircraft. In addition to the engine, many other components can also come in handy.
Although these four cars are small cars, the power of the engine is above 100 horsepower. Even if the car engine is converted into an aircraft engine, there will be a certain power loss, but sufficient power is far beyond this era.
Due to insufficient power, the Flyer One made by the Wright brothers uses a wooden cloth structure. The main structure uses wooden poles and a small number of plywood. There is no closed cabin and the wings are wrapped in linen on the wooden frame. And until World War I, the aircraft were basically wooden structures, and of course the main keel was made of steel. All-metal aircraft did not appear until the 1930s, and in World War II, there were some wooden shell aircraft.
Of course, the 100-horsepower engine cannot support all-metal aircraft, but it can also meet the power requirements of wooden-shelled aircraft, so as not to use cloth wings like the Wright brothers.
Of course, there are also some considerations for the use of airplanes. Not all wood can be used. Not only should the quality be light, but it should also have a considerable hardness. It also has uniform texture and is easy to process. Generally, the wing materials can be made of spruce, because the spruce trees are tall, straight, few sections, slightly soft, straight and uniform texture, delicate structure, easy to process, and have good resonance performance. Another part of the construction is the aircraft propeller. Since the propeller is the main source of power for the aircraft, its hardness is stronger than the body. Beech is a better choice for propeller material. The main thing is that beech is hard and dense, has strong impact resistance, and is easy to bend under steam, which can be easy to make shapes.
In fact, there are many wood suitable for manufacturing aircraft, not only spruce and beech. There are even a large number of woods that surpass spruce and beech, but they are too rare. Only spruce and beech have large outputs and wide application ranges. Both of these woods are produced in China, and the output is large. Although Shandong does not produce these two woods, they are easy to buy.
The main components and materials for manufacturing the aircraft in this way have been implemented. The next step is to start designing, which is not difficult. After all, there are so many classic models for reference. The final design team decided to use the Albatross series fighter jets, the main aircraft of Germany during World War I, as the prototype. The famous red Baron von Richthofen had once piloted this type of fighter jet.
