Chapter 440: Jade in the Wood

In fact, wood fossils can be divided into many types, and in our daily lives and common, the most representative wood fossils are coal that we often use!

Anyone with basic education knows the origin of coal. This thing is a wood fossil formed by tens of millions of years ago when the earth's crust was vigorously moving, resulting in a large number of giant trees buried underground and passing through high temperatures and pressures.

However, because this kind of thing is widely present and not very valuable, in the eyes of many scientific researchers, this thing cannot be regarded as a real wood fossil. After all, these coals no longer have the original wood characteristics due to changes in the movement of the earth's crust.

But silicified wood is different. The source of this silicified wood is actually the same as coal. It was evolved from the violent movement of the earth's crust hundreds of millions of years ago. The giant trees were buried underground.

But they did not transform into black coal under the high temperature and pressure of the earth's crust like their cousins.

The main reason is that the geographical location they buried was more comfortable than their cousins. When the big trees that turned into coal were buried, the surrounding area was dry and there was no river passing by, so they could only turn into coal.

When these silicide woods are buried, they are violently crustal movements because a river passes by nearby them, and then they are buried directly at the bottom of the river.

Another important factor that has led to their appearance is that the rivers buried with them are mostly alkalized water, which contains a lot of silica.

And when they are buried underground together and change through the high temperature and high pressure movement of the earth's crust, the silica in the water will penetrate into the bodies of the trees, replacing the wood fibrous cells of the wood itself, thereby turning the wood with original plant characteristics into silicified wood with stone or even glass luster.

Such wood fossils have very strong wood characteristics, such as they retain the wood structure and texture of the trees, but they also have the opaque or slightly transparent characteristics of gemstones.

Such silicified wood has a relatively special title in later Chinese history, that is, jade among wood!

This kind of wood-based jade first appeared in Chinese historical records in the Tang Dynasty.

There is such a record in "The Record of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty", the predecessor of the Monkey Brother story, and the specific translation means this.

After Master Xuanzang of Tang came back from the Western Regions, he brought back three Buddhist treasures in total: one was the Buddhist scriptures brought back from India, the other was the relics of Sakyamuni, and the third was the sacred wood.

And this so-called divine wood is actually the silicified wood we know now, which is the so-called jade among wood.

Because the Tang Xuanzang's exploration in the Western Regions was a great success, Buddhism began to flourish in the Tang Dynasty. This so-called sacred tree also began to flourish in the Tang Dynasty.

Buddhism believes that "all things are destroyed, only stones are passed down from generation to generation." It is the fate of the gods to turn into stubborn stones, so the sacred wood is also called Zen stones. At that time, the Uighurs in the Western Regions who believed in Buddhism continued to pay sacred wood to Chang'an, and the large temples in Chang'an were all glorified by having a sacred wood.

Therefore, the name of Mu Zhongyu was actually called out and became famous in that era.

However, after the decline of the Tang Dynasty, the central court lost control of the countries in the Western Regions, and the amount of this kind of wood-based jade imported into the Central Plains was greatly reduced, which led to the gradual lack of wood-based jade culture in Chinese civilization.

Later, even after the Qing Dynasty restored its control over the Western Regions, this kind of wood-based jade never became popular after that because of the popularity of Hetian white jade.

As of now, silicide wood is found in many places around the world. In China alone, there are dozens of provinces and cities including border provinces.

However, one of the border provinces has the most famous silicide wood, with the most reserves and the best quality. As far as the world is concerned, China's border provinces and Arizona, the United States, are famous for their large reserves and good quality.

As modern people live a prosperous life and people's demand for various collections increases, silicified wood has long since left the category of wood fossils.

After unanimous certification by authoritative organizations around the world, this thing has been classified as the ranks of natural organic gems.

With the continuous heating of the international collection market in recent years, the price of this natural organic gem is also rising.

As far as Jin Muchen knows, there are many rich people in the United States who like to collect this thing at home.

The reason why those American rich men made these things as decorations or furniture at home is to thank the "International Wang Lin" and the Dalai Lama!

Due to some special political factors, this old guy has a high status in the Western world. He has many celebrities and politicians, all of whom are good friends of this old guy. Many people believe in his style, and even be fooled by him is stunned.

In their sect, the so-called masters have many magical instruments, such as Buddhist beads, Dzi beads, etc. Some of these things are made of relics of monks, some are made of bones of animals, and some are made of this silicified wood.

So under the publicity of this old guy, this thing has spirituality. According to him, the furniture or ornaments made of this thing is placed in the living room, which is of great benefit to people.

It is precisely because of his argument that this kind of silicified wood furniture, or small handicrafts, has once become a very popular thing in the high-end furniture or cultural relics market in the United States.

A few years ago, because of the popularity of this thing, it caused a trend similar to the "gold rush" in Arizona.

Many ordinary people drive cars and shovels, and adults dig holes in the mountains and forests to find this kind of silicified wood.

It is said that if I could find a good quality, I could buy three hundred dollars per pound. It was this huge profit that caused many people to go into the mountains to mine wildly.

So much so that Arizona later had to issue a decree to prohibit people from stealing and digging such precious natural resources.

And this situation in China has not been better!

Although this wood-based jade was not too popular after the Tang Dynasty, emperors of all dynasties still hoped to put a piece of ornament made of this wood-based jade in their palace to "suppress the house"!

For example, in the recorded Qianlong's Qixia Mountain Palace in Nanjing, there was such a precious silicified wood to conquer the house...

In recent years, many provinces and cities in China have discovered this kind of silicified wood one after another. Of course, once discovered, it will definitely be immediately nationalized. In the end, it will be paid directly to the center. Most of the average quality will remain in the local area. It is said that many local governments plan to use these discovered ancient fossils to build the so-called silicified wood park, but I don’t know if the specific construction will be completed until the Year of the Monkey and Horse Month.

Of course, it would be normal if there would be any "damage" or "lost" situations in silicated wood before it is completed...

In fact, as far as the whole world is concerned, there are not a small number of existing silicide woods, but a large part of them are the ones with poor "quality".

The so-called bad quality refers to the occurrence of fracture, breakage, etc. when the earth's crust moves, resulting in incomplete quality.

Or when underground high pressure seeps, other metal elements, such as iron, copper, etc., also penetrate into the wood, resulting in the final color of silicide wood being brown, or green, etc.

Such silicide wood can be treated as garbage in the current market. It has a large inventory and a bad quality, so it is not worthwhile.

The truly high-end ones are white, gray, red and yellow, white and gray, because the penetration mineral purity is high, so it is beautiful.

Red turns red because high-purity iron elements participate in the infiltration process. Red is very festive and is also popular among people.

As for yellow, it is because petrified wood is a tree with high oiliness such as pine and cypress. When silica penetrates, the silicide wood produced will have the properties of light yellow amber. Therefore, it is definitely the most beautiful one among these silicified woods, and of course it is the most popular one.

Even on the market, many people call this silicified wood agate jade.

Among the many silicide woods, the most popular are white and yellow, then red, and finally gray.

The large piece of silicified wood in front of Jin Muchen now happens to be the most beautiful light yellow agate-like silicified wood. The whole piece of big wood has a complete appearance. You can feel the round jade quality at your fingertips. It is warm and cool to get it, and it feels great.

Wrapped with crystal agate in glassy quartz on the outer layer, you can clearly see the texture and material of the trees inside. The most important thing is that the fracture surface on the roots of the big tree is flush, just like a chainsaw cut. This is simply a natural large round dining table.

Jin Muchen roughly estimated that the diameter of this 'table' alone would probably be five or six meters. The tabletop was intact, without breakage and cracks, and the quality was extremely perfect, and there was no processing required. As long as you took it home, you could just place it in the restaurant for that kind!

Such a large piece of silicide wood, and its quality is so good. Just this piece is probably enough for him to open a silicide wood museum.

This thing cannot be estimated at all now, because so far, there is no hierarchy for professional valuation of this kind of treasure in the world, because there are too few good things.

Almost every time you find it, it will be collected and controlled by the state, even in the United States, the situation is similar.

As long as high-end silicide wood has a good quality, it is not the turn of auction companies to come forward, and it is impossible to fall into the hands of ordinary people. It is either collected by museums or bought directly by those rich people.
