The one Andrew Wise and Jin Muchen had met before, Anthony Wise, were both typical American realistic painters.
However, his status in the world is not comparable to that of Anthony Wise, who just died.
Born in 1017 and died in 2009, he is the greatest painter of the 20th century in the United States, no doubt about it!
He started learning painting at the age of fifteen and held art exhibitions at the age of twenty. In his life, he was awarded the "Presidential Medal of Freedom", "Golden Presidential Medal" and "Congressional Gold Medal" by American Presidents, Kennedy, Reagan and Bush Jr. in succession to commend his outstanding dedication to the art of American oil painting.
Andrew can paint and write poetry, so critics often comment on his paintings with a unique poetic temperament, and his works throughout his life are countless collected by the National Gallery of the United States.
Not only is it collected by the National Gallery of the United States, but many oil painting enthusiasts are also crazily pursuing his paintings. Even many overseas museums and galleries regard his paintings as excellent works and are willing to spend a lot of money to collect them.
This shows the painter's status in the world!
His paintings are often themed on American countryside natural customs and characters, and in a delicate and realistic style, they express the exchange and harmony between man and nature. The simple themes are aroused to people's nostalgia for the countryside and nature.
With his keen touch and exquisite realistic skills, he captured the visual moment and painted a sense of silence and faint sorrow, filled with touching poetry, which is also the main reason why he is called a poet and painter.
He used realistic techniques to depict his familiar local scenery, imagined and organized visual experience, had a strong local color, and created a unique style of homesickness and realism. Because of this, his painting style is unique and is called American homesickness realism, and he himself is respected as the master of painting who created this style.
His paintings are very popular in the collection industry in the United States. They have always been the darling of oil painting auctions. Many rich people are willing to spend a lot of money in order to get a copy of his paintings.
A few years ago, at an auction held in New York, his works were auctioned, and the average transaction price was over $5 million.
One of his representative works, "Zaitu", was sold at a sky-high price of nearly 10 million at an auction in early 2000. This is definitely a miracle for the current Western oil painting industry where the Impressionist oil painting style is the mainstream.
It is undoubtedly a shot of a heart-warming injection for the realistic painters. From then on, countless painters have taken him as an example and devoted themselves to the creative army of the realistic, or American homeless realist oil paintings.
And the works of Andrew Wise copied by Professor Chen can be said to be of very high level, and they all imitate Andrew Wise's representative works, and Jin Muchen likes the more he reads them.
Looking at the other side of Professor Chen’s own works, these are his paintings created in the homeless realist style of Andrew Wise. However, the themes and backgrounds of these paintings are not in the United States, but in China.
The subject matter is mainly concentrated in the pastoral areas in the western part of the country, describing the lives of the herdsmen in the western countryside. The painting is original, but the style is strongly imitated. The realistic is mixed with a little abstract flavor, but it cannot reflect the poetic meaning in Andrew's oil paintings, and it looks more craftsmanship. It cannot be regarded as a master's work, but it is precisely because of the creator's seriousness that the sincerity in the painting can also be seen.
Jin Muchen was very satisfied with the more than 20 works in this room and turned his head to Professor Chen and said.
"I am very satisfied with these paintings of Professor Chen. If you are willing to take action, you can quote a price!"
Professor Chen didn't expect that Jin Muchen was so generous and wanted to wrap his paintings around as soon as he opened his mouth, which made him hesitate.
To be honest, when he was studying in the United States, he was a loyal fan of Andrew Wise. That's why he worked hard to learn Andrew Wise's style.
Although some of the paintings in this room were copied and some were created by themselves, they can be said to be his hard work, and some of them were even his proud works, and they wanted to keep them as a souvenir.
Now that Jin Muchen wanted to wrap these paintings, it made him hesitate. After a while, he looked up and said to Jin Muchen: "Mr. Jin, these paintings can be said to be all my paintings from my peak. I know that I am just talented, and it may be difficult to draw such a level of paintings, so can you leave me a few?"
Jin Muchen nodded and agreed very simply: "Of course there is no problem. You can take down what you want to leave from the wall, and then leave what you want to buy on the wall. Let's discuss the price."
Finally, Professor Chen took about seven or eight paintings from the wall, leaving only fifteen paintings, including about ten of which were copied, and five of which were original by him.
Although the copied paintings are of high level, they are not worth much money. These paintings are sold at an average price of about 5,000.
The prices of those original paintings he created were a little higher, but they were not particularly high, just about 10,000 yuan per painting. Jin Muchen did not bargain and just made a deal with him.
In fact, Professor Chen did not ask for a random price. The collection of oil paintings in China is not very prosperous now, and he is not a well-known painter, so the price of 10,000 yuan per painting is already very reasonable for a painter of his level.
Jin Muchen transferred the money and asked Professor Chen to find someone to pack the paintings and send them back to the hotel.
When he returned to the hotel, the first thing Jin Muchen did was to take out the impressionist oil paintings that were indescribable from the packaging.
He planned to repackage these paintings and change the frames. After all, these oil paintings were paintings from more than 20 years ago. When Professor Chen bought them from the old man, he had the frames. Later, after returning to China, he never changed the frames.
Later, after he opened an oil painting workshop, he often used these paintings as examples and let the students copy them, so he often moved them around. The frame had already been damaged and encountered countless encounters.
Fortunately, the picture was not damaged, so when Jin Muchen left, he asked Professor Chen for a few picture frames and planned to reframe the paintings after returning to the hotel.
But then I took these canvases out of the frame and saw a flying signature on the back of the canvas, as well as the era when these paintings were created.
When Professor Chen introduced these paintings, he said that these paintings were all painted by an unknown old man who bought paintings at a flea market in Changdao. Now, seeing that the painter's signature on the back of the paintings was actually signed by the painter, Jin Muchen couldn't help but become interested in the old man.
After carefully looking at the signatures and creation years, these paintings should have been created in the 1960s and 1970s, but the painter's name is very difficult to describe and does not look like the typical American name.
Arthur Pinajang, Jin Muchen read the name of this painter, why is it so familiar?
He quickly flipped out the computer and Googled the painter. This search scared him. It turned out that Arthur Pina Rang was not a simple person.
He has a nickname, but the American "Van Gogh" is because he is like Van Gogh, or he is always unknown at the time, but after his death, he has become famous and his works have also been recognized by the art world.
However, this guy lived a very tragic life. He was an Armenian American. He was different from Andrew Wise, who came from an artistic family in oil painting. He was self-taught.
Andrew Wise, who was in his contemporary era, became famous at a young age and created his own school. He was a well-known American painter, and the fate of this Pina Rang was much worse.
His earliest way to make a living was to talk about comics to comic companies. In this regard, he also created some outstanding characters. Unfortunately, compared with big names like Iron Man, Superman, and Spider-Man, the comic characters he created can only be considered niche, but at least he can make a living.
His biggest hobby is to create oil paintings. He has created about 70,000 works throughout his life, and he can definitely be called a high-yield painter.
Of course, most of those oil paintings are not considered too well-formed artistic oil painting creations, and many of them are worthless drafts.
As a cartoonist and an unsuccessful oil painter, Pina Rangke never underestimated himself. He always believed that he was the contemporary American Picasso. His works should be displayed in the Fuller Building in New York, because he felt that only in this skyscraper can his talents be displayed.
It’s a pity that his long-cherished wish was not fulfilled until his death in 1999.
In 2007, two real estate developers bought his cabin on Long Island, intending to convert it into a vacation villa and then took action, but they found 70,000 works of him.
After some of these works were released, they were soon recognized by the American art world. Arthur Pinar quickly became popular in the American Art Festival, especially the Impressionist painting world.
The treasures in his paintings have been collected by the National Gallery of the United States, and his status in the world has been recognized.
In March 2013, the painter's last wish was finally realized. He left behind his works carefully selected fifty-five paintings, and held a special exhibition in the Fuller Building to commend and commemorate the most talented Impressionist painter in the history of contemporary American oil painting.
After learning about the origin of Arthur Pinajang, Jin Muchen could no longer suppress his ecstasy. It was so wonderful now that he was able to pick up the paintings of this famous artist in mainland China.
