Chapter 495: Well written

Yu Dong formed a story line in his mind, but he felt that this story line was a bit thin. After much thought, he added another story line, and then combined the two story lines together.
The first story line is naturally how Mr. Chang met his wife, how the two spent a difficult but happy half of their lives, and how Mr. Chang stayed alone.
As for the other line, Yu Dong placed the background in the present and made some extensions from his own perspective of exploring Mr. Chang's story.
This second line tells the story of a newspaper reporter who accidentally picked up an old edition of "Border Town" one day and discovered the passage written by Mr. Chang on the last page of the novel.
He was touched by the deep emotion expressed in Mr. Chang's words. At the same time, as a newspaper reporter, he keenly discovered that this was news that could arouse readers' interest, so he followed the footsteps of this book and found a small town.
In that small town, he found a bookstore.
This bookstore does not sell new books. The store is filled with all kinds of old books. The book "Border Town" was published from this bookstore.
The boss was a paralyzed woman with an aura that kept strangers away from her. When she learned that the reporter was looking for the owner of "Border Town", the boss didn't give him a good look and just said, "He is no longer here."
Afterwards, no matter how many questions the reporter asked, she was unwilling to say anything more.
Although he didn't get any news from the boss, the reporter was not discouraged. He stayed in the town for two days. On the one hand, he wanted to investigate nearby to see if there was any news about the owner of "Border Town". On the other hand, he also thought about
Can persuade the bookstore owner.
But what disappointed him was that the surrounding residents knew nothing about the owner of "Border Town", and the boss didn't care about him.
Before leaving, the reporter thought that since he was here, he couldn't leave empty-handed, so he bought a copy of "To Live" that he liked very much in a second-hand bookstore.
When he was about to leave after paying the money, the female boss asked him: Have you read this book?
He replied: I have seen it.
The boss asked him: Since you have seen it, why do you still want to buy it?
He replied: Originally I couldn't muster up the courage to read it again. Now that I saw it here again, I simply bought it and gave myself a reason to read it again.
The boss smiled: hypocritical.
He said: If you are pretentious, just be pretentious.
When he turned to leave, the boss stopped him again: Don't you want to know the story of the owner of "Border Town"?
Afterwards, the boss told the reporter the story of Chang Huaiying, the owner of the book "Border Town".
The perspective in the book also shifts to the era when Chang Huaiying first met his wife, telling how Chang Huaiying saw "Border Town" in a bookstore and how the two wanted to fall in love. The story stops here.
The perspective returned to modern times. The reporter heard that Chang Huaiying was in love with a girl, but the boss said nothing further.
The reporter had no choice but to go back with this bit of material.
Later, the reporter went to the town every now and then, trying to hear more stories about Chang Huaiying from the boss, but the boss always refused to tell.
However, after repeated visits, the reporter fell in love with this second-hand bookstore. He no longer just wanted to follow Fan Huaiying, but also calmed down and read books in the bookstore.
This is the first chapter of the book, and its name is "Border Town".
The second chapter of this book is called "Alive".
One day, the reporter came to the bookstore as usual and found the bookstore owner lying on the ground unable to move, so he quickly helped her up.
After asking, I found out that she was trying to reach a book on the bookshelf and accidentally fell. She was in so much pain that she couldn't sit back in the wheelchair.
The reporter asked her: Why didn't she call for help? Although there was no one in the bookstore, there were always people on the road outside the store.
She said: No need.
The reporter smiled and didn't ask any more questions. After getting along with him for a long time, he also knew his boss's temperament, he was very stubborn and had a very strong self-esteem.
But after this time, the relationship between the boss and the reporter eased a lot, and he told him two more stories.
The perspective shifts to Chang Huaiying and his wife. After Chang Huaiying and his wife got married, they lived a happy life at first, and later gave birth to a son. The family of three originally lived happily, but due to a turmoil, the child died young.
This is the first story told by the boss, about a couple who lost their child, and the second story told by the boss is about a child who lost his parents.
She did not tell whose story it was, but said that when a child was twelve years old, his parents both fell into the water and died while they were on a ferry.
Later, while working in a factory, the child fell from a height and became paralyzed.

The book Yu Dong is going to write has a total of ten chapters. Each chapter uses the title of a book as the chapter name, and the content is also related to that book.
The reporter had a lot of things happen in the small town's second-hand bookstore. Not only did he gradually learn about Chang Huaiying's story, but he also gradually understood the female boss.
The female boss, because of the arrival of reporters, slowly opened her heart and resolved her knot.
Of course, the story is not that simple. The used bookstore was maliciously set on fire during the trip. Most of the books in the store were burned, and the owner was almost burned to death. Fortunately, the reporter arrived in time and survived.
This story also extends to the two disasters that happened to Chang Huaiyi's books. The first time was that someone ransacked his home during a special period and destroyed many books. The second time was after his death and the books were given away.
In the end, the person who set the fire in the second-hand bookstore was found. He was a man who had once been in love with the bookstore owner. He had originally decided to court the bookstore owner, but gave up because the bookstore owner had an accident.
Later, he got married and had a family, but he still thought of the female boss from time to time. At first, he just watched from a distance, but later he found that the reporter and the female boss were getting closer and closer, and he felt resentful and set fire to it.
And this chapter is put together with the story of Chang Huaiying receiving "Fortress Besieged" as a gift from a strange woman. He was also loved by another person, but the direction and ending of the story are completely different. The title of this chapter is exactly "Fortress Besieged"
"Letter from an Unknown Woman".
Throughout the book, the story switches back and forth between two time and space, but the theme is always the same.
The reason why Yu Dong added the line between reporter and boss is to enhance the sense of time and space, and also to provide a set of contrasts, adding a little heart-warming healing to the pure and beautiful love.
And with the addition of such a line, an era, Yu Dong wants to tell people that the power of books is eternal, and they can affect more than just one person, or even more than just a generation.
Even people in different eras can still connect through books. It can be said that what Yu Dong wants to express is not only the power of love, but also the power of books and literature.

Yu Dong sometimes discusses with Yu Hua and others what kind of state is the best for a writer when writing.
In the end, several people came to the conclusion that when a writer is writing, the best state is when he forgets who he is, what he is doing, and everything realistic.
And Yu Dong entered this state.
He originally thought of simply writing the outline of the book and finding time to write the text later.
But when he sat down at the table and started writing, he entered a very focused writing state.
It went on intermittently for a long time. When Cheng Yanqiu came out of the bedroom sleepily the next morning and called him, he realized that it was already the next day.
Cheng Yanqiu saw that he had been writing all night, and asked with concern: "Did you encounter any difficulties?"
Yu Dong smiled and shook his head, "It was written so smoothly."
He stretched and then counted the manuscripts he had written. There were thirty-one pages, more than ten thousand words.
Although it was a manuscript he had just written, when he looked back at it, Yu Dong had a strange feeling, as if these manuscripts were not written by him, but appeared out of thin air, a bit like the feeling of fragmentation after drinking too much.
.
"Don't forget, you still have classes today." Cheng Yanqiu reminded.
Yu Dong patted his forehead and looked at the time. It was already half past seven.
It was too late to sleep now, and he didn't feel too sleepy now, so he decided not to sleep at all and go to class first.
"Why don't you take a nap? It's a literary literacy class anyway. It's a morning class, so it doesn't matter if you go later."
Yu Dong shook his head, "It's okay. I've had a good rest during this period. I occasionally stay up all night, but I can still bear it."
In fact, Yu Dong's work and rest routine is very good compared to the others. Yu Hua and Bi Feiyu often do this kind of writing in the middle of the night.
After a brief breakfast, Yu Dong held the lesson plan and prepared to go to the classroom. Then he thought about it and brought the manuscript paper and ink with him.
The Literary Literacy class is very short, and the rest of the time is basically devoted to answering questions or self-study.
Jin Yi attaches great importance to the literary literacy of students in the drama creation and performance departments. If you want to improve literary literacy, it can't be achieved in just a few classes. Therefore, both Zhang Xian and Cui Xinqin usually ask students to read more famous works.
.
Therefore, some people often joke that studying screenwriting or acting at Jinyi is no less than studying literature at other schools.
Yu Dong spent half an hour explaining last week's homework, and then spent another half hour explaining the literary nature of drama to the students, and then let them study on their own.
As for himself, he stayed at his desk and continued writing his novel.
He had never done this kind of fishing at work before. The main reason was that writing felt really good this time and he didn't want to miss it, so he couldn't wait to start writing in class.
He originally thought that after staying up all night, his condition would get worse and that the state last night could not continue. But what he didn't expect was that when he picked up the pen again and started writing, he entered a state of selflessness again.
When Eidong finished writing the second chapter of the book, "Alive", he looked up and saw that the students were all staring at him blankly.
"What's wrong? All the topics assigned to you have been discussed?"
At this time, the class representative Liu Ye said calmly: "Teacher Yu, get out of class is over."
Yu Dong raised his eyebrows, a little surprised, "Is get out of class over already? I didn't hear the bell... hiss, it's already half past twelve."
His literary literacy class lasts for four consecutive periods, and students are usually released at half past eleven. Even if they follow the school bell, it will end at twelve o'clock.
This means that today's class has been overtime for half an hour.
Yu Dong patted his forehead and said apologetically: "I'm really sorry, you should have come up to remind me. Especially Liu Ye, you are the class representative, you should take the initiative to remind me, you shouldn't let the classmates wait for me here.
so long."
Liu Ye pursed his lips and said nothing. The monitor, Zu Feng, said: "Teacher Yu, I don't blame Liu Ye. He wanted to go up and remind him just now, but several classmates and I stopped him. It doesn't matter that we are half an hour late for dinner, but
If I delay your writing, Teacher Yu, it would be a heinous crime."
"The crime is extremely heinous..."
Yu Dong smiled and shook his head, "That's too exaggerated. Let's do this. To express my apology and gratitude, I'll treat everyone to a meal at noon today. It's in the canteen. You can order whatever you want. I'll pay for it today."
"Great!"
The students were very happy when they heard that Yu Dong wanted to treat them to a meal. Zhang Changjiang, who was usually shy, had already gotten up and ran outside, fearing that there would be no good food in the cafeteria if he was late.

After returning from the canteen, Yu Dong fell into bed and fell asleep, and did not wake up until dark.
Although he was still a little sleepy, he knew that he could not continue to sleep. If he slept again tonight, it might be another sleepless night.
After dinner, he sorted out the information for a while, and before ten o'clock he forced himself to lie in bed.

Just over a week later, on the evening of March 6th, Yu Hua ran to Yu’s employer’s window and shouted: “Are you finished?”
During this period, Yu Hua and his brothers came to play with Yu Dong every day, either asking him to play cards or asking him to play football, but they were all rejected by Yu Dong. They also knew that Yu Dong was writing a new book.
Today Yu Hua came over, and actually just asked a question like "checking in". Before Yu Dong inside could reply, he was about to go back, but as soon as he turned around, he heard Yu Dong reply from inside the room: "I've finished writing."
."
"Did you finish writing?"
Yu Hua returned to the window and peered inside, "You finished writing so quickly?"
Yu Dong walked over with a smile and said with a smile through the window: "Well, I'm done writing. Are you looking for me today to play cards or play football?"
Yu Hua took a look at the sky outside. It was almost dark. He curled his lips and said, "How do you play football at this point?"
"That's playing cards?"
Yu Hua scratched his head again and said, "There are enough people tonight, and Lao Liu happens to be free, so I can add you."
Yu Dong rolled his eyes, "Then why did you come to me?"
"Didn't I think you hadn't finished writing yet?"
Yu Dong was amused by him, "Hey, I said you are really interesting. Since you think I haven't finished writing, and you still want to come over and call me, there must be something wrong with you."
Yu Hua smiled and said, "You think there is something wrong with me... you have finished writing, show it to me? You have been studying semiotics for so long, I want to see what you wrote."
"To disappoint you, the book I wrote during this period was not the one on semiotics, but another one."
"Another one?" Yu Hua didn't react too well. It had only been a few days, and last time he didn't say he was about to write the text of the semiotics book. How could it be changed to another book in a blink of an eye?
"Then I have to take a closer look."
"If you want to read it, come in and get it. The manuscripts are piled on the desk."
Yu Hua nodded, couldn't wait to walk around to the door, and walked into the house.
After getting the manuscript of the new book, Yu Hua went to the sofa in the living room and started reading.

More than an hour later, Yu Dong was fiddling with the shoe cabinet at the door. Bi Feiyu ran over and said, "Outside the Yu team, have you seen that guy Yu Hua? He said he wanted to play cards. The three of us were all in place, but he was nowhere to be seen."
Already."
Yu Dong pointed to the sofa and said, "Na!"
