【Simple Historical Biography】

Zang Ba, whose courtesy name was Xuangao, was from Hua County, Taishan, [Qingzhou] [now Fangcheng Town, Fei County, Shandong]. His father, Zang Jie, was once a prison guard in Hua County. During this period, he refused to obey the prefect of Taishan to kill people by his own desires. The prefect was furious and ordered Zang Jie to be taken to the prefect's office. At that time, there were about a hundred people sent to the prefect. Zang Ba was eighteen years old at that time. After hearing the news, he led dozens of followers to intercept the Xishan Road in Fei County and saved his father. Seeing this, the prison sent people were afraid and dared not move. Zang Ba and his father fled to the East China Sea, and Zang Ba also began to be famous for his courage. During the Yellow Turban Rebellion, Zang Ba followed Tao Qian, defeated the thieves and became the cavalry commander. Later, Zang Ba took troops in Xuzhou, gathered troops with Sun Guan, Wu Dun, Yin Li and others. Zang Ba was the commander-in-chief and stationed in Kaiyang area, forming a hegemony.

When Cao Cao attacked Lu Bu, Zang Ba and others led troops to assist Lu Bu. After Lu Bu was captured, Zang Ba was hiding. However, Cao Cao searched for Zang Ba and found Zang Ba. He was very happy when he saw it, so he asked Zang Ba to surrender Wu Dun, Yin Li, Sun Guan, and Sun Guan's brother Sun Kang to meet Cao Cao. Cao Cao regarded Zang Ba as the prime minister of Langya, and appointed Wu Dun and others to secede Qing, and Xu and the two prefectures appointed Zang Ba.

Zang Ba said to Liu Bei: "The reason why I was able to establish myself in the past was because I could not do such a thing. I received the favor of my lord (referring to Cao Cao) and did not dare to disobey his orders. But I was interested in the king and bully.

The monarch of Tao should tell him with righteousness, and should not be threatened. I hope the general will refuse this order for me." Liu Bei told Cao Cao with what Zang Ba said. Cao Cao sighed and said to Zang Ba: "This is a matter of benevolence in the ancients, and you can follow it, which is exactly what I wish." So they all regarded Xu and Mao as county magistrates. Later, Cao Cao refused with Yuan Shao, and Zang Ba repeatedly threw himself into Qingzhou with elite troops, so Cao Cao did not have to care about the affairs of the East and could concentrate on dealing with Yuan Shao.

【205 AD】The tenth year of Jian'an, Emperor Xian of the Eastern Han Dynasty

Cao Cao defeated Yuan Tan in Nanpi, and Zang Ba and others went to congratulate him. Zang Ba asked to send his children and the fathers and brothers of the generals to Yecheng. Cao Cao said, "All the filial piety is this? In the past, Xiao He sent his children to serve, but Emperor Gaozu refused. Geng Chun burned the room and carriage to follow him, but Guangwu did not rebel. How could I change it?" At that time, Dongzhou was in trouble, and Zang Ba and others followed the righteousness and conquered the tyrants, and fought against violence and abuse. The Qing Dynasty Haidai was a great achievement, so they all made the title of Marquis of the Lord of Duting and was appointed as General of the Force.

【208 AD】The thirteenth year of Jian'an, Emperor Xian of the Eastern Han Dynasty

Zang Ba and Yu Jin attacked Changfeng, and Xiahou Yuan attacked the Yellow Turban thieves Xu He and others. They all made contributions and were transferred to Xuzhou Governor. The Pei people were the commander of Xia Pi during the Wu Zhou period. Zang Ba was a different from Wu Zhou and often visited his house. Later, the Wu Zhou headquarters was in charge of the general and illegal. Wu Zhou was punished and was investigated. However, Zang Ba did not dislike Wu Zhou, but became more kind. Zang Ba later attacked Sun Quan, first entered the formation, then entered Chaohu, and captured Juchao. When Zhang Liao attacked Chen Lan, Zang Ba and Yu Jin conquered Mei Cheng, and later led the army to Anhui to attack Wu general Han Dang.

Sun Quan was not allowed to rescue Chen Lan. Han Dang sent troops to welcome Zang Ba. Zang Ba fought with Wu army at Fenglong. Han Dang sent troops to attack Zang Ba in Jiashi, and they were all defeated by Zang Ba. Zang Ba then returned to Shucheng. Sun Quan sent tens of thousands of people to station in Shukou on a boat and divided his troops to rescue Chen Lan. However, when he heard that Ba's army was in Shucheng, he immediately fled back. Zang Ba led his army to chase after him at night. He was about to dawn and traveled more than a hundred miles to attack Wu army. The Wu army was in a hurry and could not get on the boat. There were many people who fled over the water. So the Wu army could not save Chen Lan, so Zhang Liao defeated him.

【216 AD】21st Jian'an, Emperor Xian of the Eastern Han Dynasty

Zang Ba was attacking Sun Quan at Ruxukou and was the same as Zhang Liao as the vanguard. When it rained heavily, the vanguard army arrived first. Seeing that the river water increased and the enemy ships advanced slightly, the soldiers were uneasy. Zhang Liao wanted to retreat, but Zang Ba stopped Zhang Liao and said, "Lord (referring to Cao Cao) was clear and clever, how could he sacrifice us?" Tomorrow, Cao Cao really issued an order to withdraw his troops. Zhang Liao told Cao Cao with Zang Ba's words. Cao Cao praised Zang Ba and appointed him as the general of power. Later, Sun Quan surrendered, and Cao Cao returned to his army, so he left Zang Ba and Xiahou Dun and others to stay in the camp.

When Cao Pi ascended the throne, Zang Ba was promoted to General Zhendong, promoted to the title of Marquis of Wu'an Township, and was in charge of the military affairs of Qingzhou. After Cao Pi practiced the throne, he was promoted to the Marquis of Kaiyang and was transferred to the Marquis of Liangcheng. Later, Zang Ba and Cao Xiu fought against the bandits of Wu, defeated Lv Fan in Dongpu, and were conquered as the leader of Jinwu, and his position was promoted. Whenever there were military important matters, Cao Pi often consulted Zang Ba.

"Wei Lue" says: "Zang Ba is also known as Nu Kou. When Cao Cao died, the troops led by Zang Ba and the soldiers of Qingzhou thought that the world was in chaos, so most of them roared drums and left without permission. Cao Pi ascended the throne and appointed Cao Xiu as the governor of Qing, Xu, and Zang Ba, and said to Cao Xiu: "The country is not willing to obey Zang Ba! If I can borrow tens of thousands of infantry and cavalry, I will be able to run rampant on the riverside." Cao Xiu told Cao Pi, and Cao Pi suspected that Zang Ba's army had left without permission before, but now it is so strong! So he went on an eastern tour and took advantage of Zang Ba's coming to court to seize his troops." This statement is very different from this passage.

【After 227 AD】During the Taihe period of Emperor Ming of Wei

After Emperor Ming Cao Rui ascended the throne, he added 500 households in Zangba's town, and 3,500 households in front of him. He died soon after, and was posthumously named Weihou. His son Zang Ai Siren. In the Book of Wei, he called Zang Ai "a young man named Huangmen Lang and was a county magistrate." Zang Ai was appointed as the governor of Qingzhou and Shaofu. After his death, he was named Gonghou. After his death, his son Zang Quan was appointed as the marquis of Zangba. In front of and behind, he made three sons named Lihou and gave one to the title of Guannei Marquis. One of Zangba's sons Zang Shun, whose courtesy name was Taibo, was the attendant of the scattered cavalry of the Jin Dynasty. In the Name of the Hundred Officials of Emperor Wu, Zang Shun "was talented and treacherous, and knew the right time."

【Simple Romance Biography】

Zang Ba, whose courtesy name was Xuangao, was from Huaxian County, Taishan. He was a famous general of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms. He was originally a powerful general under Lu Bu.
