Chapter Five Hundred and Twelve The People Who Saved the World(2/2)
Shade shook his head.
Priest August frowned and looked at Shade:
"What are you going to do?"
"Sorry, I can't tell you this."
"Is it related to the demon you asked about? Is it related to the dark realm?"
"Yes."
Shade nodded:
"And Luvia is probably also in that area. I'm going to save her. Priest, you don't have to stop me or follow me. I'm ready. Don't forget what I did at Lakeview Manor.
I can use that power again."
The two returned to the living room of Room 1. The priest watched from the side as Shade put away the things on the coffee table and prepared to leave. The old man hesitated to speak:
"Well, at my age, even if I follow you, I probably won't be able to help Shade."
"What's wrong?"
The stranger looked at the old priest who suddenly raised his voice in surprise.
"Darkness is never invincible. I have always believed that the human heart is originally darkness and needs to be purified through faith. But I also believe that even the deepest darkness will definitely meet someone who can swallow it."
Priest August looked serious:
"Please close your eyes and don't look directly at me. Before you set off, I can give you some blessings and strength. Detective, if your trip is a righteous act, you will be blessed by the gods."
Shade was holding the cat and planned to throw it on the sofa and close the lid of God's gift box. When the priest said this, he put the cat down:
"Okay, what do you want to do? I believe you."
He stood next to the coffee table and closed his eyes. Then the air around him began to flow, and he seemed to hear the sound of flapping wings in his ears.
Shade understood that the priest had spread his wings.
Cold fingers suddenly touched Shade's eyebrows. A chill that almost froze his soul entered Shade's forehead from the fingertips of Priest Augustus, making him almost unable to help himself because of this penetrating feeling.
Shivering with chill.
Outlander, you feel the "Whispers."
This is the power of death. Death so brilliant, so beautiful, so dazzling.
She was murmuring softly, like she was singing.
"alright."
Withdrawing his fingers, Priest Augustus said weakly.
Shade opened his eyes and saw the priest sitting down on the sofa with a pale face.
"Priest, what are you doing?"
"I'm fine."
The old man waved his hands with difficulty. The wrinkles on his face were more obvious than ever before. He didn't look like he was fine no matter how he looked:
"I'm too old, Shade, so I can't go with you. The blessing just now has little effect. It can only protect you from the influence of darkness after entering the influence of the relic."
Shade had not yet obtained the amulet specially made by the church. He originally wanted to rely on his divinity to resist the influence of the relic just like he did when he went deep into the fishbone pirate ship, but he did not expect that the priest gave him convenience.
"Are you really okay?"
"It's really okay. I just want to take a rest. I'm too old to compare to you young people."
His tone was still weak. Seeing that Shade wanted to treat him, he waved his hand again:
"I was exhausted, not injured. Go quickly, Shade, and be careful. Don't think that with the blessing I gave you, there will be no danger.
You have to remember that defeating darkness relies on courage and strength, not light. Light and darkness are one, and darkness is also power. Darkness is never equated with evil."
The priest explained that this kind of rhetoric was very consistent with his identity as an old priest of the Church of Light and Shadow.
"I remember."
Shade nodded, turned around, closed the lid of the god's gift box on the coffee table, and then put it into the shoulder bag he sewed.
Priest Augustus obviously didn't know what it was.
After packing everything, I put my backpack on my back, and then I realized that Mia, who was on the coffee table just now, was gone. The cat probably followed the unclosed door and ran to Room 2 to sharpen its claws.
Shade tried shouting a few times, but the orange cat didn't trot out. Because of time constraints, he didn't go looking for little Mia anymore. Anyway, she wouldn't be in any danger if she stayed at home.
"Oh, by the way, priest, what did you come to me about?"
Only then did Shade remember this matter.
"Oh, I almost forgot."
Priest Augustus patted his face which had regained some color with his hand:
"Schneider asked me to inform you that today's study meeting is cancelled. He has important things to do out of the city and will probably not be back until very late."
"That's great. I definitely won't be able to go back to the city in the afternoon."
No matter how fast Shade moves in the dark realm, it still takes a lot of time to get from the city center to the south of the city.
"Well, you will see Anat later and tell her about the cancellation of today's study meeting. I will rest here for a while and then inform Louisa."
"Priest, just rest here in peace."
Shade adjusted the strap to the appropriate position and threw the house keys to the priest:
"Lock the door for me when you leave. Then, I'm going to leave."
"Whatever you do, be careful."
The priest sighed:
