Chapter 8 Chasing the waves

Two updates today, please recommend and collect!

The storm that lasted for several days finally subsided, and the sky was re-laid with azure blue shawl dotted with white silk trousers. Seabirds flew over Aiyinbulo, spreading a breath of joy.

"You just make a living like this?" Lu Yuewu saw the deal between Leo and Orefo. When she left, she said worriedly, "I don't know how you lived before. But this is undoubtedly a drop in the bucket for us."

"Well." Li Ou certainly knew the embarrassing situation. "We will starve to death."

He held the shriveled purse in his hand and clearly realized that using scarce magic to make ordinary potions to sell is the lowest cost-effective method. But beyond that, he can make very few choices.

Should I persuade Lu Yuewu to leave? Li Ou is unsure of his idea. If she gave up the previous agreement, he probably wouldn't blame the other party. Li Ou couldn't help but think so. Anyway, he had nothing worthy of the other party's peeping.

He looked at the girl. The girl didn't say a word and walked along the bustling street. Her face was still calm, and there was no sign of the imminent tension of crisis. Her peace infected Li Ou and added some confidence to him.

"There is another choice." Leo suddenly said, "but it is not the way to last."

"You have made a decision." Lu Yuewu's intuition was beyond Li Ou's imagination. "I am your guard." She said, "The responsibility of the guard is only to protect your safety. Please make your own decisions for the rest."

Her words were not wrong at all, but a sense of unavoidable powerlessness swept across Leo. He didn't even have a trusted partner to negotiate with him. He could only smile bitterly. He shook his head and threw away the meaningless emotion behind him. "Let's go back." He said, "This matter depends on opportunities and has sufficient self-knowledge."

"Where to go?" the girl stopped in front of the intersection.

Walking straight is the closest choice, but the crowds of people are daunting; to the left is the sword and shield area where the nobles live; and to the right... "Let's take a detour from the port." Li Ou made a decision, "maybe you can meet some small business."

The words that are like the greedy young people for small gains may surprise Lu Yuewu, and they may have complained a lot in their hearts. But Li Ou didn't care. The huge difference between ideals and reality made him breathless. He had to choose to return to his old career.

Aiyinbulo has several high-quality harbors. Most of them were artificially opened. Here, the sociologists' statement that "man conquers nature" is praised by them has sufficient theoretical support. However, in the face of the storm that just passed, it is like a joke. The port seems to have been plowed. The low-lying places are covered with sand and filth; broken wooden boards, torn sails, ropes... and the waves constantly hit the seawall; the ships are tilted like paper boats soaked in water, and the masts are broken, and it seems to sink at any time. The captain and sailors passing by Li Ou and Lu Yuewu are all depressed and desperate.

They bypassed the puddles on the ground and avoided obstacles made up of carriages, crates and debris.

Lu Yuewu saw Li Ou's frowning brows.

"Is there any problem?" she asked.

The commercial activities here at this port are almost stagnant - probably the same is true for other ports. The small business that Leo dreamt of was undoubtedly ruined.

"This year's storm season is far from over." Li Ou said in a daze. What he was worried about was not what he had today, but the various problems that followed the storm: shortage of materials and backlog of goods. For him, this was a devastating blow, which would undoubtedly add to the insult.

"What are you doing? Get out of here! Stay away from me! You barbarians!"

The silence of the harbor was broken with panic and angry shouts. The seabirds stopped on the broken mast flew away with their wings, while the lost sailors surrounded them.

Leo couldn't control his curiosity either.

"Let's go and have a look."

The girl didn't comment.

The quarrel became more and more intense. However, the loudest shouting always came from the guy who was the first. The object he was scolding remained silent from beginning to end. But Leo thought that their anger might burst out soon.

Sure enough, when Leo's vision was still blocked by the sailors' heads, he heard a scream in the center of the crowd, and then the muffled sound of fist to the flesh sounded one after another, making a series of screams, which were creepy. The crowd blocking them made a terrifying noise, rushing backwards, as if the sailors were facing the sirens who suddenly appeared in the port.

Lu Yuewu had already held the sword tightly and made a battle posture. However, Li Ou waved her hand, indicating that she didn't have to do this. Not far from here, there was a guard station, and even the smugglers who colluded with him did not have the courage to let the knife blood be here in broad daylight.

As the sailors scattered away, the scene in front of them surprised Leo.

A dozen strong sailors were bruised and swollen on the ground, rolling and moaning. Next to them were aliens with dozens of people. They were all wearing thin sleeveless leather jackets with open collars. The muscles on their chests were bulging high like the strong biceps on their arms, as hard as iron. The gray-brown skin was full of colorful totems, extending all the way to their necks, and perhaps the faces covered by cold Owl Beast metal masks were covered with patterns. They carried various heavy weapons that were terrifying. Double-bladed giant axes, steel sledgehammers, huge giant swords, and iron maces full of spikes.

"Who are they?" Lu Yuewu asked with a rare slightest question.

"I have never seen aliens dressed like this in Aiyin Blo." Leo replied with a frown. Just standing, Leo could feel a solemn, wilderness breath coming to his face. "Did you see the ship behind them?" Leo said to the girl in a low voice. The large ship is now full of holes, and the angle of inclination is scary. However, the oil paint on the hull is still clearly visible after storms.

"Same pattern as they are on their bodies." said the girl.

"That should be their totem." Leo briefly explained a few words, "Some alien tribes still follow ancient traditions. For them, totem is the god they believe in."

The group of aliens soon noticed them. Leo clearly saw that the alien wearing a golden mask said something to the people around him, and then the alien with a double-edged giant axe on his back and a green pattern painted on the mask walked towards them.

"Hello, Master of the Alchemy Capital." The alien unexpectedly had a noble-like graceful posture, which made it difficult for Leo to associate his movements with his rough and sturdy appearance.

"Hello, an outside guest." Li Ou hurriedly replied, "Is there anything you need help?"

"As you can see, we were storms, our ships were destroyed and we could no longer return to our hometown."

Li Ou nodded, "This year's storm comes earlier than in previous years."

"We know this very well. It's a disaster." However, the other party obviously didn't want to beat around the bush. He quickly expressed his true intentions. "We have to stay here and find a place to live. You see, and we are not welcome."

Leo could not refute. He shut his mouth and listened patiently to the other party's words.

"Can you help us settle down?" said the alien sincerely, "The Neanderthals will repay their kindness. The warlike Neanderthals will become your private soldiers and guards."

"I can't make the decision. I don't have the ability either." Li Ou smiled bitterly. He glanced at Lu Yuewu. He couldn't even afford a guard, let alone the group of aliens who knew they were big eaters at a glance.

"That……"
