Chapter 12 The Knight

Oh my god, the gods are above! Don't!

Some villagers began to struggle hard on the spot. They were like tree demons with roots under their feet, plucking their stiff and unbending feet from the soil with difficulty. The tengu slowly swallowed the sun, and the surroundings became darker and darker. Balls of shadows came towards them. The shadows spread, like sticky rotten gel, and there seemed to be countless monsters and ghosts twisting, grinning, and making heart-wrenching screams.

Leo looked around.

The forest around the village was as dark as asphalt, and the fog was evaporated from all directions. The rolling clouds drove the Tengu away, and the darkness like a cemetery grabbed his heart. The cold was like a shadow. It was like...

He thought about it and found the most suitable description and comparison.

...It was like the cold body of the paladin when he was in a coma. It was so cold that it felt like it was burned by flames when he touched him.

Leo suddenly turned around, and he felt a little relieved. The paladin who had bathed in the holy light was still there. Although his eyes were dull and his face showed pain, he didn't look very good. But he was still there after all. The alchemist shook the female swordsman and told her to look at him. No matter what, he was the most suspicious object. At least his intuition told him so.

The sky became darker and darker, and the crows and knights returned with swords.

"Please carry them into the hotel." Li Ou said loudly, "Hurry up, hurry up."

He looked up at the swallowed sun, not knowing how much time they had left for them, so he could only leave their power to do his best. The soldiers hugged some villagers with stiff bodies and turned around to return, but their steps stopped because they saw a strange empty pebble road that extended from their front to the entrance of the village, and then led to the dark forest. The houses that had been blocked seemed to have turned into bubbles for a moment, disappearing like ghosts.

The knights seized the time, and the hotel behind them was the only shelter, and they had to move these unarmed guys in. But they found that they could not leave the road. Some invisible things, perhaps the air here itself, prevented anyone from running away from the road.

"Mr. Jazz..." A knight's voice was trembling.

Li Ou did not answer for the time being, and he narrowed his eyes slightly. At the end of the road, the darkness condensed by the thick fog seemed to be a door to another world. A series of heavy and powerful horse hooves suddenly broke the dead silence like the surrounding cemetery.

"Monster!" the woodcutter screamed sharply as if a frightened duck, "Yes, that monster!"

The village chief widened his eyes in horror, "...he, he didn't lie." The old man's saliva sounded particularly harsh. "Alton, Virgin is above, what kind of monster is that?"

The priest shook his lips, "I, I don't know."

"Don't talk." He roared in a deep voice, trying his best to suppress the uneasiness and fear that surged in his heart. "Everyone is ready to fight."

The heavy mist stretched out tentacles from the gravel road. The moon finally completely blocked the sun, and the night wrapped the whole world. Stars appeared above the head, and mountains rose on both sides of the primeval forest. Time and distance seemed to have lost their meaning here. A strange-shaped black figure showed his deity from the end of the road, approaching them. The sky became like an underworld, and under the cold and dim starlight, the mysterious outline was clearly visible.

The shape of the figure is not strange. It is riding alone on a horse, but it doesn't look like a thing in the world.

As the other party got closer and closer, Li Ou saw the full picture of the knight and the mount under his crotch.

The horse was terrifyingly tall and strong, like a war horse, but more fierce than any noble pure-blooded horse. Leo felt that it was like a giant beast, more fierce than the flame foal of hell. The giant beast moved its nose and sprayed white steam into the cold air. Its fur was black and bright, like metal over oil. Its eyes were white and round, grinning, and showing an evil smile. Every time its powerful horse hooves hit the stone road, it would roar and splash bright sparks. It was like a dark and dirty monster from the bottomless abyss.

The Knight sat on the monster. He was dressed in gorgeous clothes, and the clean white shirt and stainless black velvet jacket were rich in a noble style. However, the decoration and matching style on the clothes were already very old and had long been out of fashion. The red and black cloak floated behind him, completely blocking the road behind him, as if it had disappeared.

"He...what is he?" the pastor murmured in horror.

The terrifying knight, Leo, recognized the human being bewitched by the demons.

"Don't come over, don't come over." Everyone screamed in unison.

The militia retreated slowly like prisoners in shackles. The cold air that kept gathering strangled their joints and frozen their hot blood just now, making it difficult for them to form the most cautious movements. Now only their hearts can move, beating heavily in their chests.

The knight pulled out a shiny heavy sword from his wide cloak. Leo saw a red droplet sliding along the sharp blade, stopping at the sharp tip of the sword as sharp as a needle, and finally falling down. The droplet disappeared into the black wind before it fell on the cold pebbles, which made people frightened.

"Save...Help..." A woman cried out in fear, like a stone thrown into the water, and everyone shouted. Their only wish was to escape, escape and live. But their will to move and tremble hands and feet were frozen together. They would only stand there and tremble, as helpless as children, seeing simple death entering their world.

The horse glanced at them, growing bigger and bigger, even stronger than the surrounding granite peaks. The terrifying undead was coming towards them. They tried desperately to pray to the gods, but no one could hear them.

The rumbling thunder came from the violently dark orbs in the sky, like an endless avalanche. The bare trees in winter were swaying unrestrainedly under the impact. However, the sound of hoofs that kept approaching overwhelmed the roar of nature and filled the cold air. The knocking sound was like an invisible slap, slapped on their faces with fierce force.

The terror knight raised his deadly heavy sword, as if he was performing some solemn ceremony.

Suddenly, a shiny light extended from one end of the sky to the other end, and refused to dissipate for a long time, illuminating the knight's cold and heartless face: empty eyes, gray flame-burning eyes, and pale thin faces that seemed to be dead.

"Sum, Charlotte?" the paladin screamed in surprise.

The knight finally began his action. He drove the mount into the crowd. The sword and axe chop were ineffective against the knights, and the silver heavy sword rose and fell with inhuman speed and precision. The headless corpses fell one after another, blood flowed out, and the orderly array of militias was also disrupted.

"No!" they screamed.

The knight hesitated and looked at the indifferent alchemist and tried to join the battle circle. But Li Ou stopped them immediately, "Don't go, you can't hurt him." He ignored their dissatisfaction, "You will only die in vain. Your swords could not hit him at all. They could not block his sword's edge."

When the village chief heard their dispute, he shouted at him as if he had grabbed the last straw, "Save us, alchemist, please." He lay on the gravel road in disgrace.

The priest was also begging: "Alchemist, please help us..."
