Chapter 52 Rebuttal
Happy June 1st!
The hall suddenly became silent.
The guests couldn't believe their ears. However, after a brief silence, the hall became noisier than the beehive. They kept asking the people next to them, be sure that there was nothing wrong with their ears. "What's going on?" The alchemist looked at the surprised guests, thinking that they probably hadn't figured out the reason yet. [..com]
"Silent, quiet."
It was not until the soldiers smashed the tail of the long hook knife to the floor tiles, the hall was shaken, and the red bricks and dust spilled on the ceiling to cover their bodies, that they gradually became quiet. However, this did not erase their dissatisfaction.
"Your Highness," asked an old man with a tuft of goatee, "How can you marry a woman of unknown origin?"
Prince Patton's good mood disappeared, leaving only anger. He clenched his fists tightly and beat the carved handrail of the Black Wood Throne with force. "Who do I want to marry or you have to go through your consent, old guy?" He cursed loudly, "I am the prince, not you! What qualifications do you have to point fingers? Are you going to get married?"
The old man looked frightened, "No, no." He said helplessly, "Your Highness, I mean, I mean... this lady, she..."
"Why is she intruding you?"
"She is not worthy of you." The old nobles seemed to take Prince Patton's anger and hatred as hypocritical illusions and continue to challenge Prince Patton's bottom line. "Can't we find a more suitable woman in Siris County? Every girl here desires to be your wife and concubine. Why do you have a special liking for her? She is just an alien woman... and her appearance...her status cannot be compared with you."
Prince Patton finished listening to the former's words patiently. He looked at the other person with his eyes slanted and asked angrily, "Are you finished?"
"I, I didn't say anything."
The prince pointed outside the hall, "Then shut your mouth and get out of here."
The old man's hands and feet trembled, his face turned pale. "Dear, Your Highness--"
"Are your ears deaf?" Prince Patton shouted sharply, the old man's legs and feet were weak, and he looked in disbelief. "You are old too fast, and I should remove all your positions."
"You can't do this," exclaimed the old man in shock, "I served the former kings."
"Old guy who is relying on his old age." Prince Patton snorted disdainfully, "Guard!" he shouted, "Drag him out."
"No, Prince, you can't do this..." The old man looked at the guards approaching him in horror. He was panicked and didn't know what to do. He looked at Prince Patton, looked at the latter pitifully and sadly, and almost knelt down and begged. The people next to him could not help but have no effect, but instead aroused Prince Patton's anger even more. "Drag him out, immediately!"
His screams were back in the hall, buzzing. Everyone was shocked by his anger, silent.
"I can't stand you saying no!" Prince Patton said to everyone, "I am the king, not you. You stupid idiots, pride your ears and hear clearly. The lady beside me has a nobler background than you. In front of her, you are just a group of flies that smell shit!"
The crowd was silent for a long time, and everyone glared at Nianta, but quickly turned their eyes away and did not dare to stay. Their faces were full of reluctance, jealousy and grief. This emotion tortured them and prevented them from swallowing their anger.
"But." A voice suddenly came from the crowd, "But..."
"But what?" Prince Patton swept over the crowd and shouted angrily, "Say!" But the surroundings suddenly became quiet. No one dared to look Prince Patton in the eyes, and no one dared to say a word. "Say! Didn't you still chirp like a mouse just now, but now you have all become mute?"
"What can I say?" A young woman in the crowd shook the hand of the male companion next to her and walked out. She looked at the prince without any retreat and said loudly, "I know who she is, the only daughter of the Count of the Golden Ship, holding the title of heir. But, what I want to say is not that. She is just that monster, who specializes in having sex with men, a dirty and stinking demon!"
Nianta's face turned whiter, and she looked panicked, shivering on the platform, as if she was the prisoner to be tried. "No, I'm not, I'm not the monster you mentioned." Tears rolled in her eyes, and she kept repeating, "I'm not."
Prince Patton was furious, "Shut up!" He shouted loudly, "Guard, where are the guards? Pull out her tongue."
The crowd suddenly exploded. The woman fell down on the ground with her legs weak, and her face was covered in grey expressions of regret and despair. "Dear, Prince--"
"You don't do this."
"Mother of the Desert is above, open your eyes."
The riots of pleading and accusations were heard one after another, almost overturning the roof.
Even the alchemist was surprised by Prince Patton's cruel decision. He had seen the various bad deeds of tyrants in history books, but he never thought that he would see them with his own eyes.
Many believers of the Mother of the Desert kneeled on the ground and prayed, hoping that their gods could stop the tragedy. However, their so-called Miss God was hiding in the crowd, sneering and disdaining.
"You won't stop them?"
"Oh, my dear alchemist, you won't be unaware of Clegg's hobbies."
He really didn't know. He didn't worship the bastard. Leo didn't turn his head, and it was not difficult to think of the fanaticism in the other party's golden eyes. He spoke with a little mocking, "He is neither a god nor a 'brutal' clergy."
"The demons and gods are all the same, and death can please him." said the female magician.
"I think he'll be happier if you die."
The other party ignored his sarcasm. "Besides, this is killing a chicken to warn the monkey." She looked at the short and fat bald man who was angry and flickering murderous intent and continued contempt, "For this stupid fat man, he is holding on. Face and self-esteem are more important than anything in his eyes. He cannot tolerate other people's rejection."
"Is it because he's too short?"
As far as visually speaking, Prince Patton is even half a head shorter than the delicate Nianta.
"Who knows?" Erora shrugged, "You have to ask yourself."
In short, the constant injury of self-esteem made Prince Patton unable to listen to any advice or prayer, and all the pleas could not change his decision, but instead made his anger as frightening as a volcano that was about to erupt.
"Shut your mouth all." Prince Patton grabbed the armrest of the throne's seat tightly, and his fat all over his body trembled with anger. "Guards, what are you waiting for? Pull out her tongue! Whoever dares to show mercy will cut off your head!"
"No, Your Highness, you cannot do this." One man tried to resist to the end, "There is no such punishment in the law."
"No?" Prince Patton sneered, "What kind of punishment is that?"
"Only whipping."
"Fighting? Then it's fine to change it from now on." Prince Patton made a decision without thinking, "For those who have long tongues, they will be punished with tongue pulling—"
"You...a disagreement procedure... should also be discussed by the former Parliament."
Prince Patton slapped the handrail heavily and roared in anger, "Are they kings, or am I kings?"
"Of course it's you. You, you are our king."
"Since I am the king, I have the right to do this!" Prince Patton blocked their mouths with a word. "Soldiers, they are still stunned. Do you want to die?"
The soldiers looked at each other and finally walked forward, holding a cold and terrible hook in their hands. "No, no, don't come over, please don't come over." The woman struggled wildly and kept begging for mercy. Her face burst into tears, and despair made her lie on the ground without any strength. "I was wrong, I was wrong. Don't treat me like this, don't do this..."
"Wait a minute." Prince Patton suddenly stopped the soldiers. People thought he had changed his mind for a moment. But he heard him say, "Don't be here, don't scare Miss Nianta. Drag her out and find a place to deal with it." He waved his hand in annoyance, "Drag it out quickly and don't let the Throne Hall be stained with blood."
Is he trying to win Nianta's favor with this? The alchemist thought disdainfully, it's really clumsy.
The woman's begging for a long time, then a scream came from a faraway place, and then everything returned to peace. Every guest in the hall regretted attending today's banquet. They were like a group of defeated roosters, hanging on their heads, hanging their messy chicken feathers, hiding beside them, trembling.
"There was no rebellion in this city," Leo commented, not hiding his disgust and hatred of the so-called faith. "It should be thankful to you. Your delusional technique is truly amazing."
The female magician accepted his "praise". "A stupid, cruel, and greedy power is easier to control than a smart guy." She raised her eyebrows, swaying with pride. "What he needs is nothing but a simple task for us. Such a guy is easier than creating a puppet."
"I feel deeply."
"Okay, let's stop talking about these unscenic topics." The female magician suddenly blew at him, and he heard the magic jumping. The dull and sticky magic made him feel disgusted. "Don't you think we should add another fire to them? They don't know the more shocking news."
The engagement between them.
"I can't wait. Where are you?" Erora chuckled in his ear, then took a step and walked out. Her robe swung left and right. The guy in front of her was pushed away without warning, as if a whole invisible army was clearing the way for her. The people around him swayed left and right, cursing. But when they saw the female magician passing by them, all their complaints turned into pious kneeling. Almost everyone, whether sincere or hypocritical, all knelt down and expressed their piety to the female magician. "Don't you come together?" She suddenly turned her head and said to the alchemist.
Everyone's eyes were gathered on him, including confusion, doubt, hostility and contempt. Look carefully, please be careful of your chins later. I hope that none of you, the black monkeys, have heart disease. Leo thought contemptuously in his heart and followed Erula's footsteps.
Next to him, the girls were staring at him. Their eyes were complicated, full of madness and uncoverable pain. Leo could only comfort them with his eyes, give them enough confidence, and at the same time secretly prayed that they would not be impulsive, especially Rosie.
"Your fiancée is me, don't look around." Erula suddenly grabbed his arm and whispered, "Otherwise, be careful of your eyes."
Li Ou took a deep breath. He withdrew his gaze and looked straight ahead.
Now that things have come, he is fearless.
