Chapter 20 Black Rain, Thunder and Lightning
May begins, please bookmark it!!
In the pouring black rain, Leo and the desert warriors ran quickly against the wall as they could. The cold and smelly rain hit their faces, like sticky mud, and like the sand under their feet. The yellow sand was like leeches, crawling with boots, becoming heavier and slipping.
The dark day disappeared, and they walked through one shadow after another. However, the thunder never stopped, and the roars in the square became less and less common. The smelly cold wind seemed to blow from the top of ice and snow, making waves of ruthless whistling. Li Ou's heart was full of uneasiness. The blood rain of seduction had passed, and it was the last step of the ceremony. He had no time to upset his own consciousness, so he could only bury his head and escape farther away - the farther the better, and it would be best to escape to the end of the sky.
The desert warrior followed his footsteps, pursing his lips tightly, without saying a word. He still felt unwilling to accept it, and Li Ou could see it clearly. However, in the face of cruel reality, even the most powerful warrior had to bow his head. Acknowledging his shortcomings and choosing to retreat was a brave move. Just as a reckless man could never become a hero, and a hero would only die and become the protagonist in the minstrel's poems, only the living could enjoy flowers and glory.
The long roar in unison teared through the clouds and hit the eardrums.
The magic power was erupting like a thunderous lava burst. The invisible and invisible magic wind pulled their bodies like a hurricane passing through the border, pressing Leo's head, and knocking him hard against the wall. The pain from the spine quickly spread throughout his body, his head buzzed, and his feet were kneeling softly in a pool of sand and mud with stinky black water. The desert warrior let out a muddy groan beside him. He fell to the wall, as if a pool of soft mud.
The violent thunder exploded above the head, the darkness went in and out, and the rolling dark clouds cracked from the middle, revealing a red sky like hot magma, and the smell of sulfur and ozone spread out, surrounding them layer by layer like silk.
Li Ou raised his head in horror, and saw the sky breaking and the red magma fell, as if a meteor had cut through the sky. A terrible omen. The ceremony was about to be completed and the grand destruction was about to come. Li Ou didn't know how much time would be left for them.
"Is this... the end of the world?" the desert warrior murmured in horror.
"I only know that if we don't leave, we will be our doomsday!" Li Ou tried hard to pull up the arm of the desert warrior, "Get up, get up quickly! Run! Don't go see it, just run!"
They stumbled and ran in the dark rain, behind and above them were the howling wind and the thunderous wrath. The magic oscillated in disorder and moaned in pain. The air became hotter and hotter, and the smell of sulfur became stronger. The black rain gradually became sparse, turning into wisps of gas and rising to the sky. The steaming mist covered the streets ahead. They ran through houses that were ravaged by hurricanes, and there was no one inside, and the city became a dead land. Then, Leo smelled the burnt smell.
Without warning, a ball of Mars first emerged from a house next to it. The sparks burst into an unstoppable prairie. After a moment, the entire street became a sea of fire. They were completely surrounded by flames.
The flames were swallowing and spitting, like a monster who was ridiculing wantonly. The thick smoke filled them and they coughed loudly.
"Can you still find the direction?" Li Ou asked.
"No problem." The desert warriors' tone was uncertain with some kind of uncertainty - the high wall of flames blocked their steps.
Li Ou took a deep breath, "Be ready..." He quickly drew a magic seal and condensed it in his palm. "Let's go!"
They jumped out like a rabbit, and the magic seal blasted a hole on the fire wall. The flames licked their hair and roasted their clothes black, but there was no more defect. They rolled in the mud, rolled over and got up without stopping.
The loud thunder chased their steps, the flames followed, and the mist and smoke rose everywhere.
Leo found himself losing direction. "How far is it?"
The desert warrior remained silent. He held the handle of the axe tightly, and blue veins bulged out on the back of his hand, and painful struggle flashed in his eyes. Leo thought it was not good. He suddenly stopped. "Turn right at the intersection ahead, and you can see where we came out." The desert warrior said. "I have to go back. Fight is my mission, not a cowardly escape." He took a deep breath, as if he had found himself and his faith again. "I can't watch the disaster come."
"Idiot!" Li Ou cursed angrily, "You are no different from dying."
"That's better than living a life of silence." The desert warrior turned around and left.
Living in vain? You are the hero of righteousness? "Idiots who overestimate themselves, do you really think that those demons can be slaughtered like old horses and sick donkeys, as easily as wood? You don't understand what they are!"
"The gods guide my way, and their glory protects me."
He really thought he was the warrior of the gods and the sword of the gods? "You are a desert warrior, yes, you believe in the gods, yes, you also believe in the Clegg they sacrificed." The black sun gathered with the gods. But now... it was a great irony. "But the gods are all dead! All the so-called divine power is gone. How do you fight against spells and evil magic? Don't forget, you can't even jump over a wall of fire!"
The Desert Warrior stopped. It was an irrefutable fact. However, Connor Brandik said, "I am ashamed of my retreat. I am about to correct my mistakes because of the mistakes made by stupidity and cowardice."
Leo sarcastically said, "Wash your sins with your life?"
"This is also my glory."
"The glory of the shit, the gods are just a group of non-spoken disciples who use any means to believe. And what about you? You are just ** body now." Leo told him loudly. The meteor whizzed past their heads, the sky cracked into pieces, a red color, and the sun was dyed black behind the dark clouds.
However, suddenly, there was no sound around him, and there was a silence, as if he was in a silent world. In the city without vitality, there were only filthy devil words chanting prayers to please the devil.
All glory is worthless after the end of the world, just as the faith once was. The desert warrior looked up at the sky with his head, and his voice trembling with deep fear, "What is that?"
One eye opened in the burning red zenith, and the tumultuous black clouds condensed into his face. A twisted, hazy face exudes mad restlessness and pure evil intentions, and then the eyes were calm like a lake. Just as his crazy personality was unpredictable and capricious, making it impossible for people to guess.
A thunder as thick as a bucket fell from the sky, and the demon priests shouted loudly to break through the sky.
