Chapter 279 Taoist True Learning

Ayou stayed up for half a night last night and wrote down the mantra. He took out the booklet and handed it to Zhou Xuan, and arranged for Zhou Xuan to read it briefly first.

Zhou Xuan opened the thin booklet and couldn't help but sweat appeared on his face. He looked at the traditional Chinese characters flying in it, and felt mixed emotions.

Some of the words here are really metaphysical, and he can only recognize them by relying on Meng. Some of them cannot even recognize them by relying on Meng, so he can only ask the master with a thorn in mind.

"The human Yuan Jindan is the technique of receiving life, the earth Yuan Shendan is the way to take food, and the Tianyuan Great Pill is the most important function of the dual cultivation of nature and life. All of them are nothing more than the three things of spirit, energy, essence, and so on. Therefore, the three things are affected by the three things. If they are in line, they will become humans, and if they are in contrast, they will produce elixirs. What is the right thing?

One produces two, two produces three, and three produces all things, so emptiness turns into spirit, spirit turns into qi, qi turns into essence, essence turns into form, form becomes human. What is reverse? All things contain three, three returns to two, and two returns to one. Those who know this way are happy and guard the body, nourish the body and refine essence, accumulate essence and turn into qi, refine qi and combine spirit, refine spirit and return to emptiness, and the golden elixir is formed..."

The full text of this article is only a few thousand words, which is not much for novels that cost hundreds of thousands of words. The most important thing is that the content is obscure and difficult to understand, and the whole article is almost Taoist terms. If there is no explanation from others, it is just a heavenly book with words for ordinary people.

He just took a rough look and wrote down the mantra in his mind.

When Ayou saw that Zhou Xuan had finished reading, he began to explain word by word.

He thought Zhou Xuan would learn very slowly, but he didn't expect the result to be unexpectedly fast.

Zhou Xuan is not a Taoist priest and has not been exposed to things like Taoist scriptures, but he is very good at learning. He memorized everything Ayou said. He understood and summarized it in his own way, and then asked in detail what he didn't understand until he understood it.

Under Ayou's full teaching, Zhou Xuan only spent 70% or 80% of the practice formulas in just three hours. In fact, this is really nothing for ordinary academic masters. The slightly longer classical Chinese in Chinese are all so smelly and long. After spending a few lessons, it is just the basic operation of academic masters.

He had already remembered all Ayou's insights and experiences about the mantra. What he lacked now is practice, and the theoretical knowledge is almost full. All he left is water grinding skills, just take your feet down to earth and take your time.

Although Ayou was shocked, he still pretended to be very ordinary on the surface. He smoked a cigarette and then said to Zhou Xuan calmly.

"Don't be proud, this memory is better. Many people can write it down, but this does not mean anything. The most important thing is to persevere so that magic power can be cultivated."

He refused to let Zhou Xuan develop a proud character, and did not praise him, but instead suppressed him slightly, so as not to avoid Zhou Xuan's impetuousness in the future and lose his life if he was careless.

Zhou Xuan nodded silently, but actually disagreed.

I felt that there was nothing to be proud of, and I was even used to it. Originally, he planned to do his best to start practicing the mantras. But Ah You stopped him and said that the magic power would not be able to be refined for a while. Instead of wasting time, it would be better to learn something else.

Originally, Ah You planned to spend a whole day explaining the practice formula to Zhou Xuan. He was even ready to talk about the formula for several days in a row. But he didn't expect that Zhou Xuan was extremely talented and only took a few hours to understand it.

So Ayou continued to explain the magic tools and magic talismans to Zhou Xuan.

Generally, magic weapons have the effect of destroying evil and exorcising evil spirits. If magic power is injected, the effect will be better. He mainly explained several conventional magic weapons, such as peach wood sword, ink dou, Bagua mirror, Taoist robe, etc. After talking about these, he also expanded on how to arrange the altar.

The altar is an indispensable means for Taoists. With its blessing, basically any means can have a gain effect.

Zhou Xuan recorded all these and wanted to open the casket and try it out immediately. It’s a pity that he doesn’t have magic power yet, so it’s just a waste of effort to open the casket.

After Ayou said this, he began to explain the Dharma Talisman in depth.

For the Dharma Talisman, he just explained to Zhou Xuan the corpse-suppressing Talisman and the Evil-breaking Talisman. In fact, he only understood these two talismans, and the other talismans have been lost for a long time.

"Tactics are secret magic weapons that communicate with people and gods, so they are not allowed to be drawn casually. Therefore, there is a saying that "drawing talismans without knowing the orifices will make ghosts and gods laugh; drawing talismans if they know the orifices will be shocked to make ghosts and gods scream." There are hundreds of ways to draw talismans, some of them have to pinch tricks and think of the essays of gods, while others have to step on the gyra and chant spells..."

While explaining to Zhou Xuan, Ayou showed him the real steps for drawing talismans.

Zhou Xuan used his eyes to remember all Ayou's actions in his mind like a camera.

In fact, painting talismans, even laying paper and ink, and using brushes are very sophisticated. The complex procedures and cumbersome methods are dazzling.

However, people with high Taoist talismans are much simpler to draw talismans, and they can even wave their hands. They do not need any materials, just magic power and spiritual energy can make talismans out of thin air.

But people who are ordinary in Taoism also have to draw talismans based on the time, advantage of the place, harmony of the people, in short, it depends on luck. If they want to draw talismans with a high success rate, they must learn to draw talismans. This is something that all monks need to experience, and no one can avoid it. After all, no one can achieve it overnight and reach the sky in one step.

The program of the talisman drawing ceremony has a certain procedure. It must not be simple and the order is reversed. From a general perspective, the talisman drawing requires an altar to perform sacrifices (especially Taoist priests), which is called "main-altar style".

The general talisman in the main altar style describes the gods that Taoists usually believe in - Land, City God, Green Emperor in the East, Red Emperor in the South, White Emperor in the West, Black Emperor in the North, Vermilion Bird General, Xuanwu General, Black Killing General, etc. Taoists also need to build an altar and make two seals of the Heavenly Emperor. These two seals are carved on the altar and must be carved in front and back.

Before drawing the talisman, you must first purify your mind - concentrate your mind, be sincere, eliminate distracting thoughts, focus on your thoughts, and purify your body, cleanse your face, clean your hands, rinse your mouth, and prepare fruits, rice wine, incense, candles and other sacrifices, as well as brushes, cinnabar, yellow paper, etc. For these supplies, the Taoist first uses magical mantras to make them have divine power.

It is best to choose Zi or Hai when drawing talismans. It is said that this time is when yang disappears and yin grows, and yin and yang intersect, the spiritual energy is the heaviest, followed by Wu, Mao and You.

(Mao hour    5:00-7:00, noon    11:00-13:00, You hour     17:00-19:00)

Talismanism is the main practice of Taoism. During the Song and Yuan dynasties, the three talismans (so-called "Three Mountain Talismanism") were the Maoshan Shangqing School, the Gezao Mountain Lingbao School, and the Longhu Mountain Tianshi Taoism.

Ayou's ancestor was Taoist Yunyou who learned art from one of the sects. It was impossible to find out which sect was originally studied. But judging from the magic weapons passed down from his family, Taoist Yunyou was definitely not a small person.
