302. The Trap of Silent Night

The Atlantic Ocean is like a young girl. When she is quiet, she feels like she gathers all the gentleness of the world, and even her breathing is clear and sweet. But once she gets angry, her sharp roar and violent fingertips are enough to tear everyone's body and soul.

Our fleet was arranged in a row from south to north according to the plan to ensure that the cross-section of the coverage route, even a distance far beyond this width, could be covered. The purpose was only one - to effectively intercept the Dutch fleet led by Hansen Young.

Waiting is always awesome, watching the sun gradually set, sometimes I even wonder, why do I do these things? Why do I get involved in these things? What is the point of being involved in these things? When I come to Europe, all I want is an apple, but I have to plant a tree first! What is the meaning?

But then I thought, if there are eight or nine out of ten people who are not satisfied, how can there be so many smooth things? If I arrive in Europe, my second uncle's flesh and blood will jump and jump to me and shout to me that I want to go home! Or the Spanish, the Portuguese immediately presented the magic stone I need with both hands. It seems that it is the plot in yy's novel, and the probability of real encounter in life is slightly less than zero...

Standing at the bow of the boat, I couldn't tell what it felt. The evening sea breeze blew on my face, which made me feel a little deserted. Sometimes, people don't persist because they have hope, but because they have persistence!

In the current situation, I can only go with the flow, and there seems to be no other way - unless I can accept letting go of everything, finding a beautiful Pacific island, fishing, farming and woodcutting, and spending my life, I will never be able to escape these grudges, right and wrong.

Just as I was about to go back to the cabin and put some supper on my own, the lookout hand suddenly shouted: "Captain, the third ship is sending a signal! A fleet is coming from the east! The direction is west, with a speed of about 16 knots!"

Here comes! My heart is slightly tightened. I am not very happy to see such a sea battle on the vast sea. This is also related to my professional identity in my previous life. I have always believed that if you can solve problems with a cup of potion behind your back, you should not meet with weapons, especially this kind of naked duel - this is the behavior of a warrior, and I am still a cleaner in my bones.

I have never escaped from the battle since this life, but when I have a choice, I still prefer to use "smart" methods to solve problems instead of head-on battles like this. But then again, when I really encountered it, I was not afraid, I just didn't like it.

After a moment of contemplation in my heart, I ordered the plan to be implemented! After the signal hand issued the lantern command, all ships began to move closer to the position of the No. 3 ship in the dark! This is also the best way to narrow the distance between them and allies and enemies!

The two and a half-ships of France had left first, but to go far, according to the agreement, they would be docked ten nautical miles west and provide some support if necessary. In thirty minutes, all of our five ships formed a battle line of 45 degrees apart one nautical miles around the No. 3 ships!

The fleet in the distance approached little by little, just like the night in the sky lowering little by little. After discovering the fleet ahead, the other party obviously reduced the speed of the ship. From the slight scattering of the formation, we can see the panic in the opponent's heart.

At this moment, all of us have been ready for battle, the shells have been loaded, just waiting for the fire to be fired! The result of communication with the fleet behind will determine whether we are enemies or friends, whether we are greeted with smiles or bullets!

Fortunately, the other party's reply came over, it was a Dutch! After seeing the prompt to indicate our identity, they answered almost a few seconds later, and they could imagine the tension in their hearts. And I also ordered someone to answer immediately, we are the British fleet, and expressed the position of friendly forces.

Under the surveillance of our cannon, the other side's fleet slowly approached us. When I could see the figures on the ship clearly through the moonlight, I raised my skills and shouted loudly: "Is it Mr. Hansen Yang, a Dutchman?"

The other party was obviously surprised by our grasp of the situation so accurately. After almost two breaths, Hansen Yang's voice came back: "It's me! It's me! Who is the friend on the boat ahead? Listen to the sound, it should be Mr. Sun!"

I replied with a smile: "It's just here! Please come and talk to Mr. Hansen!"

This requirement is reasonable. Hansen Yang took a boat to the bottom of our side in a short time. After boarding the boat on the soft ladder, I was very happy to see the ancients, but Hansen Yang was even more ecstatic!

"Oh! Dear grandson! You should call your Earl, why are you here? Who are you waiting for?" Hansen Yang's face turned red with excitement, and he asked repeatedly.

I laughed and said, "Of course I'm waiting for you, brother!" Seeing him with a puzzled look, I smiled and said, "Time is urgent, let's talk about it!" Then, I would like to meet the French, communicate the situation, arrange the tactics, and tell them the next step. Hansen smiled and immediately agreed to my plan!

But he also suggested that the Spanish who followed behind were very cunning, as if they were Grisca, a talented admiral in the Spanish navy. If we were so red and fruit-bearing, we would probably not be fooled. Therefore, we had to think of a feasible solution.

After looking at the sky, it was absolutely clear that the sky was clear! The possibility of heavy fog tonight was almost zero! What should I do? After looking at the darkness in the distance, I immediately thought about it! After talking to Hansen Yang in this way, he thought for a moment and thought it was feasible. When the fist of his right hand smashed his left palm, the matter was finalized!

After discussing the matter, Hansen returned to his fleet with a smile and immediately began to prepare for battle - this was probably the most relaxed and pleasant time he had ever brought up a war in his life, no doubt about it.

I also ordered that the fleet travel about three nautical miles south, all lights were extinguished, and the lights and sounds were kept under control until I issued a battle order.

At around two o'clock in the evening, the pursuit fleet led by Griska was surprised to find that there seemed to be a fleet in front of him anchoring on the sea! Looking closely, who was the Dutch fleet that had chased half of the Atlantic Ocean? In a big joy, Griska, who was already wise and well-known, did not rashly come forward and attack the enemy, but let his fleet disperse as a whole, forming a formation similar to the crane wing formation, and slowly pressed towards the Dutch fleet!

When they approached about two nautical miles, they found that one of the other's ships seemed to be stranded, and the overall hull was a little crooked. Other ships were putting ropes on the ship, as if they wanted to drag it away from the shallows. But the guys also had sharp eyes, as if they had discovered their whereabouts. They hurriedly began to cut off the ropes, wanting to give up the stranded ships, and the rest of the ships were ready to escape!

Where is this reason? I've come and still want to leave? Griska has no doubts at this time and is commanding the fleet to press forward towards the Dutch fleet that is about to escape! I've asked you to escape once, but still want to escape a second time? Don't think about it!

In the dark night, the Spanish fleet was like a jackal who discovered rotten meat, and left no room for a collision towards the Dutch ship! Because they were better at hand-to-hand combat, the Spanish had to come up to exert their maximum power, so the captains rushed forward, but the target was not a fleeing enemy ship. The first target also chose the stranded enemy ship!

Why? The reason is very simple. Things that can run will resist, and those who can’t run can only wait to die! Since they are jackals, they must prefer to eat rotten meat. Who doesn’t like this kind of thing that rubs against the enemy and gets affordable? Why do you have to chase those who can run? Anyway, you can’t run far, so let others take a few bites first and then go up and pick up the bargain!

Under this mentality, although Griska repeatedly restrained and ordered to pursue the enemy first, the greedy guys under his command turned a deaf ear! Damn, the first-hand first-served capture regulations should be revised! Otherwise, they would be tolerating these jackal-like things to give priority to predation rather than starting from the overall situation and considering the overall situation!

Grisca cursed in her heart, but had no choice but to watch her subordinates whistle and pounce on the fat meat in front of her!

The Dutch shelling began to sound at the same time, but Griska did not take it seriously. The Dutch have always valued business rather than army. If it were to do business, he was indeed not as good as these goblins. But compared to war, Griska never took such an opponent seriously!

What's more, I had already fought head-on with these people a few days ago, and the other party was very clear that their artillery fire could not hurt the root of their fleet at all, and it was impossible to even cause severe damage. At most, it would increase the maintenance cost!

Grisca said in his heart. Let these guys grab it. The assets they have to be used to fill in the cost first. Alas! What a group of brainless idiots!

The Spanish wise man waved helplessly, stopping his subordinates from continuing to order the fleet to attack and escape the enemy first, because this is meaningless! Just as he was about to turn back to the captain's room with disgust, Grisca suddenly glanced at a trace of unusual things in the corner of his eyes!

What's going on? The Dutch people didn't seem to run too far, but kept a certain distance from their fleet, and stopped and shot slowly! This feeling... the other party seemed to have no intention of escaping far, but wanted to hold themselves! Why? Why did they perform like this?

Grisca was thinking in his mind that the same group of enemies fled wildly a few days ago, why was they so calm today? What gave them courage?

His eyes involuntarily extended further to the distance, where there seemed to be nothing except the boundless darkness. Was he suspicious? Or was there people or things on this ship that he could not give up? Why?

There is a ghost in the suspicion, and Griska obviously knows this. Although he has not mastered the essence, he still intends to issue an order to reclaim the formation. However, reality is like a big hand, slapping Griska in the face!

In the south! In the area covered by the glow of the Dutch artillery fire, a fleet was slowly crawling towards the flanks of the Spanish fleet like a wolf pack before preying on the ground!

Just the moment before Griska gave the order, the Dutch stranded North Sea three-masted sailboat suddenly made a loud noise! The flames soared into the sky! It seemed like a torch that exploded, and a huge fireball burst out in front of his eyes!

The two ships rushing in front were instantly ignited! This... this is a trap! Grisca punched heavily on the bulkhead, gritting his teeth and shouting: "Disperse! Let those idiots spread out!"

However, almost at the same time, there were continuous roars in the south! Grisca turned his head and looked to the south with a pale face, but saw artillery shells pouring towards his fleet like hail!

It's over! Grisca said in his heart...

As if echoing Griska's voice, a heavy shell was hitting the deck not far from his left hand! The three-inch-thick beech wood deck was immediately knocked out with a plate-sized black hole, gurgling black smoke!!
