Chapter 399 Border Village
After staying in Dacang Village for about twenty minutes, the two cars continued to move forward.
As a result, not long after leaving Dacang Village, Liu Mo'ang regretted driving here.
Nothing else, this road is really too dangerous!
If the previous road was to let Liu Mo'ang drive carefully, then the next road would make him feel nervous.
If it weren't for seeing it with your own eyes, Liu Mo'ang would not have imagined that this canyon would be so dangerous. The mountains on both sides of the valley, hundreds of meters high or even thousands of meters high, were on both sides of the valley, and the steep cliff walls stood thousands of feet high, like a knife cutting an axe, as if a giant standing tall was slit apart with the giant axe in his hand.
Although it cannot reach the level of "first-line sky", for a river valley, the geographical environment here is dangerous!
The road is still only about one lane in width, and it is a bit difficult to get a car. The mountains on the roadside give people a sense of oppression, as if they are about to collapse at any time. In the valley that is several dozen meters deep on the other side of the road, there is the roaring Rongjiequ.
Although it has entered the dry season, the amount of Rongxiaqu water that has received several tributaries along the way has become quite large. Moreover, the situation here is similar to that in Modog. The warm and humid airflow from the Indian Ocean is blocked by the tall Himalayas in the north, which makes it still cause a lot of rainfall here even in November, so the amount of Rongxiaqu water is greater than the rivers in the north of the Himalayas.
It is no exaggeration to say that although the road conditions of the Zamo Highway that Liu Mo'ang walked before were worse, in comparison with this aspect, the Zamo Highway can only be regarded as a younger brother!
Of course, you can see many remnants of landslides from time to time along the way. Dazhen said that it was all caused by that major earthquake.
On the way, I saw a brand new village on a hillside across the river, which was also a newly built village after the earthquake. Some local Tibetans who lost their houses during the earthquake moved to this new village.
When walking on the road, you can clearly feel that you are always on the downhill road, and it can be seen from the vegetation on the side of the road that the higher the temperature goes south.
However, although this road is very dangerous, it is really good to see the scenery on both sides after adapting to the environment here.
On the way, I even saw a waterfall that was several dozen meters high. Dazhen said that this waterfall was the famous Moon Valley Waterfall.
The more you go, the more beautiful the scenery of Rongjiegou will be. It is absolutely not an exaggeration to use the word "winding paths lead to secludedness" to describe Rongjiegou!
No wonder this place is called "the secret realm in the secret realm" and "the last paradise in the country". If you don't come here in person, it will be difficult for you to appreciate how beautiful the scenery here is.
After arriving at Jianmucang Village, the Rongjie Township Government's headquarters, even Wang Erhu, Liu Cheng and the two drivers praised him.
Jianmucang Village is larger than Dacang Village, and almost all the houses here are newly built. Of course, you can also see some abandoned house foundations. This is not only the township government's garrison, but also a military station.
When we arrived here, the altitude had dropped to about 3,400, and the temperature here was even warmer than that in Sunshine City. Some broad-leaved trees appeared on the hillside.
However, Liu Mo'ang and the others did not stay here. Their destination was Zuobude Village, which was close to the border line at the southernmost point.
The main reason why they didn't stay here was that it was getting late and they were about to arrive at Dazhen's aunt's house to stay.
Ronghegou currently has no open place like a hotel and guesthouse, so if you want to stay here, you can only set up a tent by yourself.
However, after the communication signal was restored on the way, Dazhen called her aunt and said she wanted to take a few friends to stay for one night. Dazhen's aunt had already prepared a room and a sumptuous dinner.
Dazhen's aunt's house is in Zuobude Village.
Originally, it was almost three o'clock when Liu Mo'ang and the others set off from Dazhen's house. They took two and a half hours to drive along the way. In addition, they had been staying in Dacang Village before, and now it was about six o'clock. Although it was dark here, the sun would set below the horizon for at most one and a half hours. In addition, it was in a deep valley and there were mountains on both sides, so even if the sun had not yet set under the floor, the mountains to the west blocked the sun early.
It would be easy to talk about the road here, but it would be better not to mention the road here.
Therefore, while you can still see clearly now, find a place to set up a camp immediately.
On the way to Zuobude Village, I passed by a place where two rivers converge. To the northeast of the intersection, on the other side of Rongjiequ, a temple with a golden roof and red wall is located there.
"That is the famous Quga Temple, which is the place where the Venerable Milarepa practiced and passed away. However, the temple we see now was rebuilt later. The earliest Quga Temple was destroyed in the turmoil era. We can come and have a look tomorrow. This is the most famous check-in point in Rongshigou." Dazhen introduced.
Chu Qian smiled and said, "It's indeed a temple. It seems that I'm not wrong."
Compared to the dangerous road from Dacang Village to Jianmucang Village, the situation here is much better. At least the mountains on both sides do not look that steep and the river valley is not that deep and steep.
After passing Quga Temple, it was only more than one kilometer, and a village appeared on the hillside by the road.
"This is Zuobude Village where my aunt lives. Do you look up and see the village on the higher hillside? It's Chentang Village, which is less than one kilometer from Zuobude Village, but the altitude is more than 400 meters higher than Zuobude Village. In the year of the earthquake, these two villages were the worst affected. Did you see the hillside in Zuobude Village? My aunt said that during the earthquake, the entire hillside collapsed. The road from Zuobude Village to Chentang Village was destroyed. Now this road is rebuilt."
Looking at the huge landslide that could still be identified, Liu Mo'ang suddenly thought of the large landslide he saw during the disaster relief in Motuo, and his body was filled with goose bumps.
Fortunately, the landslide was next to Zuobude Village. If it were on the village, Liu Mo'ang would not dare to imagine what kind of disaster would happen...
After walking along the winding mountain road, I came to Zuobude Village. I looked up close at this border village less than ten kilometers away from the border line and found that this village was no different from the villages I had passed by before. All the houses in the village were newly built.
Because a tourist route was opened from Dingri to Zuobude Village, there was a small parking lot at the end of Panshan Road at the north end of the village, and two cars parked in the parking lot.
When I got off the bus, I saw Dazhen running towards a Tibetan woman who looked less than forty years old. Obviously, that woman should be Dazhen's aunt.
The two of them hugged each other and talked and laughed. It was obvious that Dazhen and her aunt had a good relationship.
After Liu Mo'ang and the others came over, Dazhen introduced Liu Mo'ang and the others to her aunt.
Although Dazhen's aunt and Dazhen's father are brothers and sisters, they don't look like brothers and sisters. Dazhen's father is thin and short, while her aunt is tall. Even at this age, she looks pretty. She probably was a big beauty when she was young.
I just don’t know why such a beautiful woman married into such a remote village.
Dazhen's aunt was very enthusiastic and cheerful, and she also bowed devoutly when she saw the white lion.
Under the leadership of Aunt Dazhen, the group came to the house.
Although traditional Tibetan houses are not two-story, they are not small in size.
"This is a new house built after the earthquake. The original old house is still a little south. During the earthquake, many houses collapsed, and even if they were not, they were shaken into dangerous houses. Later, the state invested in the new houses and we moved in."
Aunt Dazhen doesn’t speak very well in Mandarin, but she can still understand it by speaking slowly and listening carefully.
"Now the new house is much larger than the original old house, and some people in the mountains have moved out and lived together. The village is much more lively now than before. In the past two years, tourist buses have come here, and many people in the village have made a lot of money in business." Aunt Dazhen said while leading Liu Mo'ang and the others to their homes.
Not to mention, although Aunt Dazhen’s house is far smaller than the size of the collector’s courtyard on the northern Tibetan Plateau, it is more exquisite. The brand new big north house is located on the north side of the courtyard, and there is also a Tibetan mastiff at home.
However, when the white lion came in, the Tibetan mastiff seemed to have been stepped on its tail, suddenly stood up, then snored twice and came to the white lion.
Liu Mo'ang took a look and said, "There is no little Dingding, it's a female mastiff..."
But unfortunately, the white lion obviously did not take a fancy to the female mastiff and ignored the female mastiff. She was so anxious that she was sniffing by the female mastiff. The white lion grinned and shouted at the female mastiff twice, scaring the female mastiff away from a distance.
Aunt Dazhen was also amused by this scene, but she had nothing to be dissatisfied with.
After all, it was a snow mastiff, and it was such a mighty snow mastiff. It was Rinpoche's mount, not something his own female mastiff could touch...
Dazhen's uncle was not at home. According to Dazhen's aunt, he and several people in the village took the yaks to Nepal in the south to trade things.
There is a Nepalese town about twenty-five kilometers south, with a small trading market inside. Because it is closer to Zuobude Village, many villagers here go there to buy things.
After all, it only takes fifty miles to go from here to there, but if you go to Gangga Town, you will have to walk nearly two hundred miles! At this time, the mountains are blocked with heavy snow in the north, so it is much more convenient to "go abroad" to buy things in Nepal than to go to Gangga Town.
In fact, most of the people in that Nepal town are Tibetans, and they even speak Tibetan. Although they belong to two different countries, their relationship is actually very close...
