Extra Story - Dark Night 1

Extra - Dark Night 1

In the cold basement, a thin man lay on the ground, twitching slightly, and the torches emitted a dim light, illuminating his pale face. Two men in black robes stood beside him, and the jumping fire reflected their shadows on the ground, swaying around, like ghosts.

"Say it," said a low male voice, "Stop sticking, Nicholas, it's just a waste of our time."

"Please, I really...I really don't know," the man named Nicholas sobbed, "I really don't know."

"Oh, this really disappointed me." The shorter man said again, "It seems you need some reminder."

Another man pulled out his wand and pointed at the person on the ground, "Heart--"

Nicholas lay on the ground and twitched in pain and screamed. The man holding the wand looked at him without any intention of stopping.

"I said...I said!" Nicholas shouted loudly with all his strength.

The man stopped chanting the spell, and Nicholas was slumping in that violent breath, "In, in the United States, I only know so much about a pastor... Please, let me go, please."

"Look, how great this is." said the shorter man. He glanced at the man next to him and turned around and left.

The man raised his wand toward the twitching Nicholas, "Avadassomim."

Outside the basement, a man in black robe stood there, watching the morning sun rise from the horizon, when another man walked out of the passage behind him.

"Have you all been dealt with, Ibikos."

"Yes, His Highness Sauron."

...

Howard is a senior federal agent this year. Before joining the FBI, he served in the Marine Corps for ten years. Because of his excellent performance and ability, he was transferred to the current department a year ago. He is now in a good life, with a high salary, and has nothing to do. He only needs to intervene when a major vicious incident occurs. He has a good friend, Billy, who was his former comrade and his current partner; a gentle and virtuous wife and a beautiful and lovely little daughter.

Every Sunday, Howard would go to the small church near his house to talk to Father Roel - the priest is a very good person, gray-bearded and thin, but he was very energetic.

Howard has been feeling bad in recent days. The intuition formed by life and death on the battlefield told him that something was going to happen. It was Sunday again, and in the evening, Howard went to the church to chat with Father Roel as usual.

He pushed open the door, and the church hall was empty, only Father Roel was sitting on the first row of chairs.

"Hi, Father Roel, how are you doing today?" Howard said, his voice echoing in the empty hall, making people feel a little weird.

"Oh, it's Howard, you're here." The priest turned his head and said.

"Father, are you sick?" Spark said worriedly, because he saw the priest's face very pale and frightened. Howard sat next to the priest, "Do you want to go to the hospital?"

The priest shook his head, his face looking calm, "It's almost dark, right? I can feel that they see me and will find this soon."

Howard instinctively realized that something was wrong.

"They, who are they? What did you see so someone threatened you?" Howard asked, and began to recall whether there were any recent cases in the area.

"Forget it, child." The priest shook his head and said. "I'm sorry, Howard, I'm not feeling well today and can't listen to you." The priest took out a worn-out brochure from his arms, which was a Bible. "Keep it."

"Then, I'll say goodbye." Howard saw that the priest was unwilling to say more, so Howard stood up and walked towards the gate.

"Howard!" said the priest behind him, "Dark is coming, don't be afraid."

...

Howard returned home, his wife and daughter went to a friend's birthday party, but had not come back yet. Howard turned on the TV and sat in the sofa. He looked through his phone in his outer pocket and touched a book - the one given to him by the priest just now, and put it in his pocket.

Howard flipped through the Bible casually - the black cover was very worn, the words on it were a little blurred, the pages inside were a little yellow, the fonts of the text were a little weird, and it looked more like handwritten.

This was the sound of the door opening, it was the wife and daughter.

Howard kissed his wife and hugged her daughter again.

"Dad, I just saw a beautiful big bird, black, like a peacock with a long tail." said his daughter Miranda, holding his neck.

"Oh, is that?" Howard said with a smile, "Where are you?"

"I asked my mother to see outside, but she couldn't see it."

"Well, that's because you're a little angel."

"Okay, let her down." said his wife, Catherine. "Miranda, go wash your hands. I'm going to cook, my dear, please help me."

"Come, my dear."

At night, after dinner, his daughter went to bed early - the two of them were exhausted at the party during the day. Howard sat in the study and continued to flip through the Bible. After reading for a long time, he found no valuable information. It was just an ordinary Bible. Howard recalled Father Roel's expression in the afternoon, and felt a little worried. After thinking for a while, he decided to go to the church to take a look. He quietly walked down the stairs, but found that Catherine was still sitting in the living room.

"Why aren't you sleeping yet, my dear." Howard walked up and hugged her.

"Where are you going to go so late?" Catherine asked.

Howard hesitated for a moment and decided to tell the truth. "I went to Father Roel in the afternoon. He seemed to be in trouble. I was worried. I wanted to go see him."

"Then be careful, go and go back soon."

"Don't worry, I'll be back soon." Howard kissed her, then put on his coat and went out.

...

The clouds in the sky are very thick, even the moonlight is blocked.

In the hall of the church, Father Roel stood under the icon, lowered his head, praying devoutly. He turned around and two men in black robes stood in the middle of the hall, one of whom was squatting on a large black bird.

"This place is really hard to find. You are Father Roel, introduce yourself. My name is Soren, and the one next to me is Ibikos."

Father Roel looked at the two people in front of him angrily, and he held the cross on his chest tightly in his hand without any fear.

"Oh, don't be so serious," said Sauron. "We came here for only one purpose. We were looking for the Doomsday Code, and we asked around and found you. I guess you should know its whereabouts."

"I don't know what you are talking about. You are not welcome here. Please leave." Father Roel said angrily.

"Don't do this, dear priest, we don't have much time and don't want to waste here, and we don't want to take extreme measures, which will cause trouble." Ibikos said, smiling, but his tone sounded dangerous.

"This is God's room, and you who are intoxicated by darkness are not welcome here."

"Father, don't test my patience." Sauron's tone became cold.

"I am a servant of God, and I will not surrender. I am not afraid of darkness or suffering. I look at the light he points to."

"Enough!" Sauron said fiercely. His voice echoed in the hall, shaking the glass window. On the candle in front of the statue, the originally bright yellow sapling flame instantly turned into a black flame.

Sauron approached the priest, staring at him coldly, and there was no trace of emotion in his golden standing pupils. Sauron waved his hand, and the priest seemed to have strangled the neck of an invisible hand, and raised it into the air, kicking his hands and feet in vain. He was drinking and panting, his face turned blue.

"To be honest, I really don't like doing this," said Soren. "Ibikos, give him a real spit."

The priest fell from the air and fell to the ground. Ibikos took out a small bottle from his arms and poured the potion into the priest's mouth. Soon, the priest's eyes became blurred.

"Now, tell me where is the code?" Sauron asked.

"I don't know, I don't remember where it got it." The priest said in a calm tone.

"Damn it, like Nicholas, the real spitting agent doesn't work. We can only let him speak it out on his own initiative." Ibikos said with a frown.

"We don't have that much time, and those idiots will soon find out that although they can't do anything to us, it will be troubles after all." Sauron said. He pulled out his wand and pointed it on the priest's head. "It seems we need some special means."

Sauron did not chant the spell, but the priest screamed, a silver smoky silk was pulled out of the priest's head as the end of the wand was pulled out of the priest's head. Soon, the priest stopped howling, and he collapsed to the ground, his eyes widened without a trace of anger.

With a bang, the church door was knocked open, "Stand there and don't move, just start! You bastards, otherwise I will shoot." A man stood at the entrance of the gate, holding a pistol in both hands, aiming at Sauron and the others.

Howard was shocked. As soon as he arrived at the church door, he heard the priest's screams, so he immediately opened the door and rushed in. He saw two men in black clothes facing away from him. They seemed to have done something to the priest just now. Now the priest was lying there, motionless. When he slowly approached, he could see clearly their appearance. Both of them were very thin, and one of them had a big black bird-like thing squatting on the shoulders. He could not see their faces, but from the back, the two people were probably two young men.

"Now, turn slowly, remember it's slow." Howard walked behind the two of them and said.

A man turned around and showed the face of a handsome big boy. It was obvious that this was a minor. He looked at Howard curiously, which made him feel a little uncomfortable.

Howard guessed that they might be some gangsters. They were caught by the priest when they were making shameful hooks, so they came to trouble him. However, what he saw next quickly completely overturned his guess. Another person turned around. It was a child who looked no older than his daughter, but what made him chill was the man's eyes - the golden pupils stood like snakes, staring at him, with a cold smile on his face, which made Howard feel like his whole body was soaked in cold water.

Howard shot subconsciously, but it seemed useless. Sauron did not fall or retreat, and the bullets were like they passed through a cloud of smoke. Then he reached out to the detective and waved it. Howard seemed to be hit by a car, flew out, landed among rows of seats, and fainted.

"Don't you kill him?"

"No need, let's go."

The two disappeared in an instant, leaving only the priest who stopped breathing and the detective who was unknown to life and death in the church.

...

When Howard woke up, he saw the white ceiling and walls. He was lying in the hospital ward. Catherine fell asleep by his bed. When she felt him moving, she woke up, her eyes were swollen, and she had obviously cried.

"I'm in the hospital, oh, my head hurts so much, what happened." Howard asked weakly.

"That night, you said you were going to church. I waited for you for a long time and didn't come back, so I called the police. When the police arrived at the church, they found that the door was open, the priest had stopped breathing, and you were lying in the seat mat, unconscious, and blood was still oozing from the corner of your mouth." Catherine said and started crying again, "I was frightened. You were in a coma. I knew you hadn't woken up until today. You had been in a coma for two days."

Howard gently hugged Catherine into her arms and patted her back comfortably.

"Howard, what happened?" Catherine asked after the doctor left.

Howard recalled the scene that night, and when he thought of those terrible eyes, he couldn't help but feel a little chill. He hesitated for a long time, and realized that this matter was definitely not suitable for circulating it, but in the end he decided to tell the truth. He held Catherine's hand and said seriously: "Dear, do you believe me?"

"Yes, of course I believe in you."

Howard looked into her eyes and said seriously: "I saw the devil."

Katherine's face turned pale, "Dear, this joke is not funny."

Howard shook his head, and he carefully told his wife about what happened in the church. She seemed very surprised, but she believed his words.

"Listen to me, my dear, take Miranda to your mom's house in Los Angeles, the sooner you leave, the better," he said seriously.

"Dear, is there anything going to happen? You mean, they might come back." Katherine seemed nervous.

"It's hard to say, but just in case."

Katherine hesitated for a long time, "Okay, I'll go and prepare to go to my mom's place later." Then, she seemed to suddenly remember something, "By the way, my cousin."

"Cousin, what cousin?" Howard was puzzled.

"Norend, you've seen it, you've seen it at my mom's house."

Howard raised his eyebrows, "It's that guy who looks nervous. Oh my god, you don't think he can help."

Two days later, Howard was discharged from the hospital.
