Chapter 92 Bloody Fortress

Shaoko and Master Roland talked for a while before saying goodbye and leaving. He still had a lot to do.

Since talking to Master Roland about a possible large-scale war, Shaoko rarely stayed in the tavern again, but he also went there a few times occasionally.

Mage Roland tells Shaoko every once in a while that there are more and more troops in this fortress, especially in recent times. When Shaoko goes out occasionally, he will find a large number of troops constantly heading to the fortress, and many troops are still stationed outside the city.

The atmosphere in the city became nervous inadvertently. All day long, Master Roland found Shaoko again, "Master Snow Night, let's go to the tavern again! The female mage who told you the news will appear there this time, we can ask her for more detailed situations."

Looking at Master Roland's worried expression, Shaoke felt that he should try his luck in the tavern. He also hoped to meet Master Roman who had not met for a long time there, and to get more news from the other party.

After arriving at the tavern this time, Shaoko was not disappointed. After discovering that Master Romain was sitting alone, Master Roland smirked and asked Shaoko to ask himself, but he went outside to chat with the maids because he hadn't been here for a while and talked to them about their relationship.

"Why, I'm still in the mood to come here now?" After seeing Shaoko coming, the somewhat furious mage started the topic unhappily. "You should prepare for the war that is coming now."

"Master Roman, I came to look for you several times, but I didn't see you." Shaoke didn't care about the other party's displeasure and calmly expressed his thoughts about coming here. "I just want to know if this war lasted for a long time, as you said last time?"

"Can you give me a glass of wine?" Master Roman recruited a maid without waiting for Shaoke's consent and took a cup for Shaoke. "Did you find that there are many fewer mages here during this period?" The female mage did not answer Shaoke's question positively.

"Yes." Shaoke actually discovered that there were not many mages in the entire tavern, only some scattered third-level mages sitting in various inconspicuous corners, and they looked as furious as Master Roman.

"A while ago, we third-level mages performed tasks, and there are still many mages performing tasks outside. I just came back." Mage Roman gently rubbed his head, "These tasks are all about this war. This long-term war is not good news for you mages who have just arrived. But this is what all mages who have arrived here must experience."

"I found that many troops have arrived here. This is just a small fortress. Is it worth the effort of the Desas Empire?" Shaoko asked in confusion.

"Little Fortress?" Master Roman asked back with a hilarious question: "Which Fortress was written on the contract when you first came?"

"Fortress 330." Shaoko suddenly felt a bad feeling, and he felt something was wrong with the name of the fortress. "When you came here, didn't you have this name?"

"I remember that this fortress was made by those bastards for 440 fortresses." The female mage's angry expression made Shaoko suddenly feel chill all over. "Before I came here, there were still many names in this fortress, such as the seven seven zero fortress, the five six eight fortress, etc. In fact, there is only one real name here on the upper level." The wizard Roman grabbed the gold goblet in his hand tightly, gritted his teeth and said: "Bloody Fortress. This is the real name of this fortress. Only this name can match it. The rest of the names are just a lie."

"Bloody Fortress?" After hearing this name, Shaoke suddenly remembered the enemy and our soldiers who turned into flesh mud on the top of the city. He felt that he already knew the origin of the name of the fortress.

"Master Snow Ye, it was this war that gave this fortress this name. The initial battle was completely different from the battle faced this time." Mater Roman hesitated for a moment, and was about to say something else, but unfortunately he was suddenly interrupted by someone.

"Master Roman, I think these situations are not something that the second-level mage in front of me can understand. You should stop talking about this." It turned out that a fourth-level male mage who was not far from the two came over. Shaoke found that the other party was also very young, probably not over forty years old.

Master Roman frowned, "I know, I don't think you need to remind me of these things, let alone he knows these things sooner or later, even if he says it in advance, there is no problem." As he said that, he turned the wine glass in his hand, stopping Shaoke from his plan to salute.

"If he dies in this battle, there will never be any need to know this." The fourth-level male mage did not take the little movements of Master Roman, but instead smiled at Shaoko and said, "I hope you will become a third-level mage as soon as possible. By then, you will know something. Knowing too much now will not be of much help to your future cultivation."

"Thank you!" Shaoke owed, thanking the fourth-level mage.

The mage nodded, glanced at Master Roman, and then returned to his original position and stayed quietly.

Master Roman drank some wine and stopped talking all of a sudden. The atmosphere between the two became silent. Shaoke closed his cloak, stopped asking questions tactfully, and changed the topic: "Master Roman, I see that your face is a little ugly. Should you go back and rest for a while?"

"No need, I just want to wait quietly." After seeing Shaoke's plan to leave, Romain looked back at the fourth-level mage and whispered: "You come out with me later, I have something to say to you."

Shaoke nodded. He was not afraid that the other party would tease him again like he did last time. Anyway, he would leave here and tell Master Roland some of the news he heard this time.

The two were silent for a while. Master Roman signaled Shaoko to come out with her, and after leaving the tavern, he stood under a tree not far ahead, waiting for Shaoko to arrive.

"Mage Snow Night, this war is actually not too dangerous for the mages. The most important thing is to see if the mages can persist. The danger is only those ordinary soldiers and low-level warriors." Mage Roman quickly looked at the surrounding situation, approached Shaoko and lowered his voice, quickly told him some news. "I can only say so much. You should treat this war as your target when you conduct spell casting practice. Yes, just treat this war as your spell casting practice!"

Shaoke thanked the female mage for a while, and then left after a while. However, Shaoke found that the Roman mage did not go, but turned around and headed towards the tavern again.

After hearing Shaoko's explanation, Master Roland breathed a sigh of relief, "Master Xueye, I'm relieved to say that. I don't want to die in this hateful battlefield so early." But instead he told the news he got from the maid, "I heard that many soldiers have arrived at this fortress this time, and there are a large number of prisoners. How long do you think such a war will last!"

"Aren't those prisoners building and maintaining the road? How could the military headquarters allow them to pick up weapons and go to the battlefield? If these prisoners riot, the consequences would be unimaginable." Shaoko immediately thought that the decision made by the military headquarters was quite wrong, but instead thought that it should be impossible. If the military headquarters were not sure, they would not be assured to let these prisoners appear on the battlefield with weapons.

"Don't worry! There are not many prisoners, only hundreds of thousands of people, and they are all sentenced to death. If this war is over, they will be released." Master Roland admires the decision made by the military headquarters very much, "so that they don't have to escape or even resist. I believe they all understand this."

Shaoko was a little helpless about the nerves that Roland Mage showed at times, "Master Roland, there are only hundreds of thousands of prisoners, how many regular soldiers are there? Will so many soldiers participate in a war of ordinary war?" After saying that, he rubbed his head with some worries. He didn't know what would happen in this war.

Master Roland shrugged, "Mage Xueye, this is not what we care about. These ordinary soldiers will die if they die. Don't forget that after a small spell continues, you can kill dozens of soldiers." As he said that, he put the mage robe, "This is not what our mages care about."

Since getting new news from Roman Mage in the tavern, Shaoko has never been to the tavern again. He hid in the room every day, either meditating or familiarizing himself with the spells he mastered, and tried to use his previous life's ideas to disassemble the spell structure, hoping to discover new casting techniques from it.

As the days passed, Shaoke found that there were more and more mages in the courtyard where he was, and it seemed that they had been on the battlefield. Master Roland was not clear about the news about these mages, but after he asked dozens of companions who came together, the two finally understood the origin of these mages.

It turned out that these mages came from other fortresses, and they were all second-level mages. "Mage Xueye, I guess there are more than 200 mages in our courtyard. I don't know about other courtyards. I heard that there are special military camps outside the city for the mages to use." As more and more soldiers and mages in the fortresses, Master Roland was worried more and more.

Faced with the worry of Master Roland, Shaoke didn't know what to say for a moment, but just encouraged each other and worked hard to ensure his life in the coming war. "Master Roland, as I said before, we can only prepare for this war, and we can't do anything else."
