Chapter 20 Sneak Attack

Chapter 20: Sneak Attack

Chapter 20: Sneak Attack

"Plane leader!"

"Platform Leader Cui!"

...

As soon as Captain Li and I walked back, the soldiers surrounded us.

"Platform leader! Let's not pay attention to that..." Shunzi, who was quick-talking, spoke first. He leaned his rifle hard on his back and said, "Aren't he just a regiment commander? He is still an agent. Why are we afraid of him? At worst, we can fire us, so we don't need to fight!"

"Go...what do you say?" I glared at Shunzi fiercely, scaring him so much that he never dared to say anything again.

"Platform leader, what Shunzi said makes some sense!" Al Ziri continued, "We are just a soldier, and they are soldiers fighting. How can he do to us? Keep us in jail and not let us fight?"

"If you want me to tell me, our achievements are obvious!" Yang Songjian said angrily: "From going abroad to now, we have won several consecutive victories! If it were not for Platoon Leader Cui's contribution, I wouldn't know how many more people would die! It's up to him, Captain Zhang, to say it alone! His mother is really frustrated, and he will be punished if he wins the battle!"

"I think so too!" Wu Haiguo also said to me: "The whole regiment sees the victory we fought. Platoon Commander Cui can be said to have made great contributions. If he, Captain Zhang, dares to make small moves, we will jointly sue him!"

"Yes, let's go jointly!"

...

The soldiers agreed and wanted to start writing joint letters now, but only the people from the hometown sat aside and didn't speak.

Seeing the soldiers' excitement, I couldn't help but feel moved. To be honest, I don't care about anything. I have had so many years of experience on the battlefield and have been indifferent to life and death. I don't care about this. But I'm really worried about the soldiers next to me. They are all trained by me, but now they are comrades who have been through life and death together...

"Co-branded letter! I think beautifully!" Captain Li, who didn't say anything for a long time, just smoking a cigarette, spoke at this time: "Can you deliver this letter? Besides, why do you say that these victories are the ones we fought? When fighting the 386th Highland, there were the 4th Company, the 6th Company, and the 339th Highland, there were the 3rd Battalion led by Commander Zhang?"

Commander Li took two more cigarettes with a "bang" and continued, "We fought this battle well! But can Commander Zhang say that? Did you hear it? We are personal heroism, we are not helping us, and we are disobeying orders..."

"Abide by the order! If we obey the order, we will lie on the position!"

"That's it! I've never heard of someone who will be punished if you win a battle!"

...

"Okay, OK!" Seeing the soldiers fighting for a group again, I waved impatiently, "Comrades, don't fight, you don't need to worry about this matter. It's going to be dark soon. Take the time to set up open and secret whistles and mines! Take the time to have a full meal and rest. The Vietnamese army is likely to come to sneak attack tonight, and bring the guns with them when they go to bed at night!"

"Yes!" When the soldiers saw me say this, they responded and dispersed with indignation.

Seeing this, I couldn't help but sigh, realizing that this was not just a matter of punishing Captain Li and me. If it was handled improperly, it was likely to lead to unstable morale in the military.

The soldiers risked their lives to fight on the front line, and they should have focused on fighting the enemy without distraction, but now it seems that it is not easy to do this.

Every unfair punishment made by superiors because of their own face, selfishness or interests may leave a shadow in the hearts of the soldiers. These shadows are enough to make the soldiers lose confidence in their superiors or distract themselves on the battlefield, and even pay the price of their lives for this!

Alas! No matter what! The enemy is right in front of you and still cares about so much!

Thinking of this, I quickly focused my attention on the sniper rifle in my hand. No matter how his superiors deal with it, as long as I have this gun in my hand, I will be very satisfied.

The weather in Vietnam is very strange. In February, many places in China are covered with snow, but in Vietnam it is a high temperature of more than 30 degrees. At night, the temperature will drop sharply to more than 10 degrees. Although it is not cold for more than 10 degrees, I have tried it in North Korea for dozens of degrees. But the temperature difference between day and night is still a bit unbearable.

Isn't this? During the day, all the soldiers were sweating profusely and wanted to go into battle with their shirtlessness, but at night they had to be tightly wrapped in the quilt.

Maybe they were too tired during the daytime battle, so the soldiers ate a few biscuits and went to bed in the trenches. No wonder they went to bed so early. This was their first day of combat. The exercises were exercises before, but now they are still nervous when they are real swords and guns.

However, it can be seen that the soldiers were not sleeping soundly, and they all tossed and turned, and sometimes people woke up with sweat. After waking up, they looked around for a while, and when they confirmed that there was nothing wrong, they lay back to sleep.

I don't remember how I was going to kill on the first day of the battlefield every day, but I think everyone won't be so smooth when taking this first step. There are even a considerable number of people who have not been able to persevere until now sleeping in the same trench with us...

After playing with the sniper rifle in my hand for a while, I found a recess on three sides to block the wind, and then untied the marching and was covered with it. This place is at the junction of two trenches, and the trenches next to me can well block the mountain wind blowing around me.

Years of marching have allowed me to quickly find a suitable place to sleep in any environment. Fighting is a skill, and finding a place to sleep on the battlefield is actually a skill. Because only by using all conditions on the battlefield to allow my body to have sufficient rest can I maintain my physical strength and let myself go to the battlefield in the best condition.

I knew this very well, so although my mind was a little confused at this time, I still forced myself to fall asleep. What was a little confused... is because I was worried that my superiors would soon make me leave the company or disrupt the company. Shunzi and the others did make some sense. What can we be afraid of as a soldier in war? Can our superiors let us not fight? But what they didn't know is that the punishment I was most worried about was actually to separate from them or that our superiors believed in the words of Commander Zhang and disbanded our company that did not obey the order!

I believe that the soldiers were also worried about this, but they just didn't say it out.

I don’t know how long I slept, but I suddenly smelled a faint smell of tobacco. I couldn’t help but be shocked. When I opened my eyes, I saw a soldier squatting not far away and smoking secretly.

I rushed up and grabbed the cigarette from his mouth and threw it on the ground to wipe it out. At the same time, I whispered: "You don't want to die! I've said it many times, don't smoke at night!"

"Plane leader..."

When I heard the sound, I realized it was Li Shuibo, and his voice was a little choked.

I couldn't help but squatted down and asked in confusion: "What's wrong?"

Li Shuibo was silent for a while and squeezed out a few words from his teeth: "I can't forget the Vietnamese female soldier! It was me who fired the gun. I killed a woman with a child! She kept shaking in front of my eyes, and shouting, "Give me back my child, go back my child!" I, I'm a fucking beast, what's the difference between me and those Vietnamese Japanese... "

As he said that, he buried his head in his hand and started crying.

I sat next to Li Shuibo and asked, "Didn't you always want to take revenge? Why do you feel guilty?"

Li Shuibo shook his head and replied, "I don't know. I did want to take revenge when I shot, but when I saw her dead, I would think about the child in her belly..."

"You can't blame you, this is war!" I said with a wry smile: "You are not a person who likes to kill people, so revenge cannot relieve your heart's pain, but will make you more painful, do you understand?"

"The platoon leader means... let me not kill people?" Li Shuibo looked at me in confusion and asked, "There is no one who doesn't kill people when fighting? That's not..."

"It's not that you don't kill people!" I shook my head and replied, "But killing people because of revenge is completely different from killing people because of survival. Think about it carefully! Also, stop smoking..."

I patted Li Shuibo on the shoulder and returned to my bed again. What I told Li Shuibo just now is actually not difficult to understand. If you are an ordinary soldier, it is not bad to kill the enemy with hatred for the enemy. It may also arouse their strong combat power. But as a sniper, the most important thing is to be calm, think, and make quick judgments!

I believe that Li Shuibo is now circling at the intersection of ordinary soldiers and snipers. It depends on himself which way he wants to take in the future.

With a "boom!", an explosion suddenly came.

Landmines! Enemy attack!

These two words broke into my mind at the first time.

Before going to bed, we not only set up open and secret whistles around the positions, but also laid mines on some necessary roads. In fact, the best sentry at night is mines. If it is an open or secret whistle, no matter how secret we are, the enemy can see a clue as long as they carefully observe and choose a path that can be avoided.

But landmines are different. It is undoubtedly difficult to find it on nights with such poor visibility. It can not only call the police to us when the enemy approaches us, but also kill some enemies, but also give the enemy a shock and psychological pressure to attack them!

Of course, we must record the location of these mines laid out one by one, and take them out one by one until dawn the next day, otherwise it is very likely that we will accidentally blow up our own people and conquer our army's activities.

It was at night, and the explosion was undoubtedly telling us that an enemy was coming. Of course, it is not ruled out that some innocent animal accidentally detonated a landmine. But when I put the rifle in the trench behind me, I overturned this conclusion. Because in the night, the Vietnamese army had already rushed up to our position with ak47 and roaring. While rushing, they also held their guns and fired at us randomly. The bullets made waves of roaring above our heads. Occasionally, there were a few shells fired from somewhere, and it was hard to tell whether it was shot by a rocket launcher or a mortar.

This is another benefit of the AK47, and it is also why our army calls it "submachine gun". Submachine guns and submachine guns are guns that can be fired while charging. Although the accurate head is not big, dozens of such assault rifles fire at the same time, and with some fire cover, they can form a barrage to suppress the opponent's firepower.

Of course, old-fashioned rifles also have their benefits, such as Mosinnagan's range is longer and more precise. But it cannot play the role of the ak47 when charging.

However, the weapons in the Vietnamese army have been upgraded, and the weapons in our army have also been replaced. The 56 and a half no longer need to be fired like Mosinnagan. The 56-type submachine gun can also achieve similar firepower of the Soviet-style AK47, not to mention that our army also has light machine guns, four-0 fires, and mortars...

More importantly, our company not only had the advantage of geographically, but also prepared early in the morning. So with a bullet, the Vietnamese army flew everywhere and screamed everywhere.

I don’t know if the soldiers were awakened from the nightmare and were too nervous or why, but the battle started before I ordered it. But to be honest, it would be a little stupid if I waited for me to order it to fire. Because the Vietnamese army had already lurked to a place only a hundred meters away from our front line, and they rushed to us in just a few seconds.

I believe that under such circumstances, it is easy for the soldiers to repel the Vietnamese charge. The so-called sneak attack is of course arriving at the position and fighting with us in one fell swoop without our defense. Now we are all prepared, and the mines have called us in advance, so this sneak attack is undoubtedly a death sentence, meaningless death.

But the Vietnamese army did not seem to realize this and still waved their rifles in their hands to charge towards our positions, but without exception, fell under the rain of bullets in our army.

So, I could try the sniper rifle I just got with a very relaxed mindset.

With a "bang!", with a vibration from the right shoulder, a bullet broke out from my rifle. In the middle, an officer was waving his pistol and shouting loudly at the Vietnamese army. His head tilted with the inertia of the bullet and fell straight to the ground.

He was so easy to defend himself. He didn't know whether he was trying to show his power or what. Others were holding an AK47 in their hands, but he only had a small pistol that was almost invisible. The result of this unconventionality was that he was lucky enough to be the first target of the SVD sniper rifle in my hand.

"Bang!" Another gunshot was heard, and a bullet knocked down two Vietnamese troops.

Neither of these two Vietnamese troops are special characters. I just want to try the power of the sniper rifle in my hand. It is obvious that even if it is not a dedicated sniper bullet, it can easily penetrate the enemy's body and cause secondary damage.

There are a total of fifteen special sniper bombs. I carefully wrapped them in a rain cloth and placed them in a corner of the bullet bag. They are much more accurate and powerful than ordinary bombs. I believe that in the future, they may encounter other snipers of the Vietnamese army. That is the time for sniper bombs to take effect.

I have to admit that I like this kind of shooting feeling. I can use live guns without pressure and win battles, so why not? I even hope that the Vietnamese army can retreat later. But the Vietnamese army obviously found that this sneak attack had failed, so it was like a tide retreating in a while...

With a "bang!", this time the one who fell down was a red flag bearer! More than 400 meters away!

The Vietnamese army actually had a red flag bearer... In this era, even our army rarely brought such things that were likely to increase the casualties of the troops to the battlefield, but the Vietnamese army still carried it to charge.

However, this is not surprising. The Vietnamese army's tactics were greatly influenced by the Soviet Union and China to a considerable extent. It should be said that tactics learn more from China and more weapons and equipment come from the Soviet Union, so it is inevitable that we should overemphasize "spiritual universalization" like our army.

Perhaps, he knew our army's weapons very well. The distance of more than 400 meters exceeded the range of the Type 56 rifle, and it was also in the dark. He thought no one could hit him at this distance, so he raised the red flag high, as if he wanted to lead the troops back "triumphantly"...

But what he didn't expect was that I had an svd rifle in my hand, and a distance of more than 400 meters was a piece of cake for it.

However, the courage of the Vietnamese army was indeed surprising. The red flag bearer was able to hold it with the red flag and not fall down after being shot dead by me...

"Bang bang..." Two more gunshots burst out from the two Vietnamese soldiers and covered their chests and fell to the ground.

Obviously, they wanted to grab the red flag, but my bullet successfully stopped them.

At this time, a scene that surprised the soldiers and I appeared. The Vietnamese army, which was about to retreat, launched an attack on our position again. Machine guns, mortars, ak47... were all crazy and fired at our position. There was even a platoon of Vietnamese army charging towards our position regardless of everything...

A platoon? Charge again?

I really don’t understand the actions of the Vietnamese army this time. There were at least two companies in their last charge. So many people allowed us to fight easily. What else can the platoon do?

When I saw more than a dozen Vietnamese troops rushing towards the red flag on the other side, I realized what they wanted to do! They were just for the red flag!

No matter what they wanted to do, there was no reason not to eat fat in their mouths. I quickly raised the rifle in my hand and aimed at the Vietnamese army who was snatching the red flag and fired all the bullets in one breath. But when I reloaded a magazine and aimed again, the red flag had disappeared from my sight.

I can understand their behavior of robbing the red flag, because our army was the same during the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and I am also a veteran. But it is really puzzling to understand this in a small battle in modern warfare!
