Chapter 16 Military Ranks
Chapter 16 Military rank
Chapter 16 Military rank
"Fight!" With my order, the gunshots started.
I had long been eyeing two Vietnamese communication soldiers carrying walkie-talkies, and knocked them to the ground with two "bang bang" shots. By the way, military walkie-talkies of this era are still easy to find because they are not only large in size, but also have a long antenna, which makes the Vietnamese army standing in the crowd like a crane standing out in the crowd. It is simply a piece of cake to defeat them.
Sometimes I also think that since it is such an obvious target, it is better to let the soldiers take action. My bullets can be used to deal with dangerous targets. But I am still a little worried, because it can be seen that the Vietnamese soldiers carrying walkers are very experienced veterans. Every time they take a step forward, they subconsciously use the terrain and obstacles to hide themselves. Moreover, there seem to be several Vietnamese soldiers next to each walker, protecting them intentionally or unintentionally...
But they were all in front of them, and we were not prepared for the rear. It was precisely because of this that I could easily kill them, and even choose the death place of the two messengers carrying walkie-phones.
I knocked to the ground when I just ran out of the bunker. The position he fell to the ground was dozens of centimeters higher than that in other places, which allowed me to clearly see all the Vietnamese troops who were intending to approach him.
The other one was that I was shot at the head when I was hiding in front of a stone on the side of the road. At his position, if the Vietnamese army wanted to snatch the walkie-talkie, they had to expose their oblique side or back to my gun. If this could make them successful, then my shooting skills would be in vain!
In fact, I dare not be too arrogant when I choose these two positions. The previous position is difficult to get ahead, while the latter position is simple to get ahead. Combining one and one loose and tight, I can focus most of my attention on the previous position, and then occasionally pay attention to the next position.
It is obvious that the Vietnamese army pays great attention to communication with the rear troops. After all, they use two companies to fight against our army and a regiment. Although they have high quality, if we want to successfully eat up, we still have to rely on the artillery in the rear. Fortunately, I led the troops to hide in their rear in advance, otherwise this battle would be really difficult to fight.
The soldiers distributed on both sides of the open ground fought almost the moment I pulled the plate machine.
The rifles, assault machines, and machine guns roared and fired rows of bullets. The Vietnamese army focused their attention on the direction of our main force. They would never have thought that there was a team of enemies hidden behind them, and they were immediately beaten to the point of falling and blood flowing!
The Vietnamese army is worthy of being a unit that fought against the French and Americans. They soon realized that they were surrounded. The two companies immediately divided into two units and launched an attack on our army, trying to take advantage of our army's defenses when they were unstable.
But the company I have learned how to disguise in the jungle. Not to mention the disguise made of weeds, even the red collar and five-pointed stars that are likely to be exposed are carefully painted with mud. Now, I lie down into the jungle, and I can't see anything if I look carefully.
The enemy is in the light and I am in the dark, which is a very easy battle for us. The bullets of the Vietnamese army seemed to be aimless, either hitting the grass or hitting the trees. The momentum was scary. The thatch sounded like a scattered flower, and the broken wood fell down like a scattered girl, but it just couldn't hit anyone. On the other hand, the soldiers of the fifth company could lie in place and concentrate on aiming at the enemy one by one with their weapons in their hands and knocking them to the ground.
At this moment, I suddenly felt that the firepower of our company was much stronger. At first I thought it was my psychological effect, but when I looked at the dense bullets rushing towards the Vietnamese army on both sides, and then looked at the Vietnamese army that screamed like the autumn wind swept the fallen leaves, I realized that my feelings were right.
I can say that this company was brought out by me. I don’t know how many times there have been in actual combat exercises on Huangzhu Mountain, so I still don’t know where their firepower is. The firepower has suddenly increased significantly. I guess it was because after the Battle of 386 Highlands, many people secretly replaced the rifle with Su-style AK47!
These guys! Seeing this, I couldn't help but curse. You must know that in the People's Liberation Army, the weapons seized must be distributed uniformly by superiors. Replacing them privately is not allowed, and even punished. This is also the reason why I dare not give orders to ask them to replace their weapons. You must know that I am just a small platoon leader, a lot of company commanders, deputy battalion commanders, instructors, etc., and everyone is staring at them! But I didn't expect these guys to learn how to be smart!
Good exchange! You should know that our army's weapons at this time are really not on the same level as the AK47 in the Vietnamese army. Needless to mention the Type 56 semi-automatic rifle, the Type 56 submachine gun is not as good as the AK47 in the Vietnamese army. Although it looks not much different from the AK47, it is easy to get stuck, get hot or even explode. Moreover, the bullets used by the Su-style AK47 are still the same as our army's 56 and a half, and the 56 submachine guns are all common.
If I hadn't been used to using rifles, I would have replaced it. The most important thing on this battlefield is victory, killing the enemy, finding ways to keep myself alive, and a good weapon is the necessary condition for getting these!
After thinking about it, my hand was not slow. I raised my hand and shot two more "bang" shots, knocking down two Vietnamese soldiers who were trying to get close to the Bingbo phone.
These two Vietnamese soldiers were very smart. In order to hide their intention to grab the walkie-talkie, they pretended to raise the ak47 from left to right, shooting, while relying on cover to approach us, pretending to want to break through. But just as they approached the walkie-talkie, the two suddenly changed their direction and rushed towards the walkie-talkie one after another.
I have to admit that they did not find their intentions in advance, but they still shot them two times when they approached the Walkie-Telephone. The reason why I had enough time to kill them was because my gun, eyes, and all my attention were focused on the Walkie-Telephone. The so-called "resistance to change" is that no matter what tricks they play, they must eventually get close to the Walkie-Telephone. I just need to kill all enemies who attempt to get close to the Walkie-Telephone.
Unconsciously, corpses had been piled up next to the two walkie-talkies. Although their postures were different, they were all facing the walkie-talkies without exception. Especially the walkie-talkies in the second position, because of their narrow space, the dead bodies were stacked together like a hill.
Suddenly, I found that the tactic of surrounding corpses and fighting aid has another more perfect interpretation. It seems that the replacement of corpses with radio stations can achieve better results!
I don’t know when the Vietnamese army gave up the competition for the two walkie-talkies. Because I focused all my attention on the walkie-talkies within about ten meters, and focused on killing every enemy who tried to get close to the radio, until the voice of my hometown came from the intercom: “Planer Cui, the enemy rushed into the woods and ran south, should I chase them?”
"Um!" Only then did I realize that I looked around and couldn't figure out which direction was the south. I heard a few gunshots coming from time to time in the dense forest on the side of my hometown. I sighed that it was there!
The Vietnamese army is indeed not simple. When it is surrounded, it can correctly judge the loopholes and weaknesses of our encirclement. There is only one platoon of troops on the side of the hometown people. Now even if you want to pursue it, you will have the will to be strong but not enough. What's more, the Vietnamese army is familiar with the terrain and good at fighting jungle warfare, so the traps laid along the way are enough for us to suffer.
So I ordered to the walkie-talkie: "Don't chase, help the main force withdraw two kilometers away immediately!"
"Yes!" the soldiers responded, put away their weapons and walked back.
Soon I took the soldiers out of the jungle and returned to the path. There were corpses everywhere along the way, first from the Vietnamese army, and then from the People's Liberation Army. The levels were clear between each other. The difference was that the Vietnamese army was basically all corpses, because most of them were shot dead by us. The corpses of the People's Liberation Army were covered in blood, with minced meat and organs everywhere. Blood gathered in the low-lying area to form a pool of blood. The Jiefang shoes made a sound of "bajibaji" on them, splashing blood.
With a few "Wow!", I remembered that the blood and flesh of my comrades were all under my feet, so many soldiers couldn't help vomiting again. But they vomited, even their faces were pale and their feet became weak, but their movements still did not stop at all.
Seeing this, I couldn't help but nod. The cruel battlefield has made them mature a lot. At the same time, it also made them realize that the weak will only be eliminated ruthlessly, and only the strong can survive!
"Owner! Your own people! Don't shoot..." With the experience from the last time, I shouted at the soldiers of the main force from afar.
Sure enough, the soldiers of the main force still nervously held the gun and argued at us for a while. Finally, Captain Li rushed over to explain that this was the fifth company's troops, and they finally believed us and put down the gun.
I don't blame them. Most of them are new recruits, and even veterans have no combat experience. They have never fought a war, and after surviving such a bombardment, anyone will be like a frightened bird. What's more, we, who are covered in disguise, look a bit like a Vietnamese army chasing them.
"Comrades, retreat quickly!" When I returned to the army, my first words were to shout at the soldiers: "The Vietnamese army will likely bombard this area, leave here quickly!"
I thought this should be nothing controversial. After the Vietnamese army fled, they would soon tell other troops about the situation here. Once they were asked to contact the artillery, another round of gunfire would inevitably be here. But unexpectedly, someone would soon object with righteousness.
"What's the point!" A cadre with a bandage on his forehead and his face covered in blood glared at me and shouted: "Who are you? How can we retreat if we haven't completed our mission? That's not retreating or escaping! We should rush up to occupy the enemy's position!"
"Yes! Rush over..."
"I think you should retreat and breathe a sigh of relief!"
"You can't withdraw! We're interspersing! Interspersing means being quick and slow, and then you'll hit a bird!"
"Yes! Retreat is running away! We should pursue the victory!"
...
Looking at the chaotic scene in front of me, I was stunned and turned my head to look at Captain Li in confusion.
Commander Li sighed helplessly and replied: "The regiment commander is injured and unconscious and unable to command! Many cadres have also died in this bombing, now..."
I know if I don’t say anything below because the problem is already in front of me.
Let’s look at the soldiers who fought for a group of people. They were all dressed in cadre uniforms, but they couldn’t tell which of their “officials” was the largest, and there was no sign of military rank on their collar seal on their shoulders, so they could not distinguish who was of higher rank at all. So no one allowed to say this.
I know something about this. Our army's uniforms originally had military rank signs. However, in response to the call of "officials and soldiers are unanimous and treated equally", our army completely abolished the military rank system. From then on, the entire army was wearing new full-red five-pointed star hat badge and full-red collar seal. The previous hat badge, military rank epaulette, military rank collar seal and military branches, arms, service and other symbols were abolished.
Before, I didn’t think this was something that could reflect everyone’s equality, right? This is exactly what our modern society pursues! But now I find that this problem is big, just like the situation we are facing now. Several cadres, including me, the platoon leader, are all dressed in cadre submissions. No one knows what the other party is, so they all have their own opinions and no one listens to each other!
Some people may say, wouldn’t it be successful if you show your position? This is the platoon leader, that is the company commander, and there is a battalion commander... I will listen to the battalion commander!
But there is another problem. Most of the troops are recruits from all over the world, many of them have just arrived a few days ago. Just like us, we still haven't had the chance to know our battalion commander. Now a person suddenly came out and said that he was the battalion commander without any sign on his body. Who would believe this? If this is OK, then the Vietnamese agent put the cadre uniform on his body and said that he was the regiment commander and could easily pull a unit away!
The abolition of the military rank system directly led to the injury of the senior commander of our army, and the troops would be as uncontrolled as a piece of sand and could not be integrated. In modern times, I heard veterans of the counterattack war talk about such things. Some troops were disbanded from the first day of the battle, and they still couldn't be organized when they returned to China on the last day of the counterattack war. The soldiers of the entire army followed other troops to fight, and they would run wherever there was gunfire and fight wherever there was a war...
"Where is the team leader?" I couldn't help but frown when I looked at the situation in front of me.
"Behind!" Commander Li pulled me and separated the soldiers who were crowded with each other. After walking for a while, he saw a big bearded man lying on a stretcher covered in blood, with a bandage wrapped around his head, and a shocking bright redness appeared on his right forehead. I thought it was because the shrapnel hit, and the two health workers were busy with something.
"How is the leader?" I asked.
I never knew that a leader was so important. What I urgently needed at this time was that he opened his eyes and said something, or even just "retreat" two names, which might save all of us.
"No life is at risk for the time being!" the health officer replied: "But it needs to be sent to the rear for first aid immediately!"
I gritted my teeth and asked, "Is there a way to wake him up for a while? Is there a heart attack?"
"Who are you?" The health officer looked at me in confusion, and at the same time, the two guards holding submachine guns also looked at me with fierce eyes. But as soon as they saw it was me, their arrogance immediately became a little shorter. I guess they had seen my methods when they followed the regiment commander to inspect the 386 Highlands.
"Comrade! Please leave!" But even so, the two guards still stopped me outside because of their duties. Then, within a while, the regiment commander left under the escort of the guards.
I couldn't help but sigh. Actually, I was unwilling to give the regiment commander a heart attack, because I knew that this might make the regiment commander lose the opportunity to be treated. Even if it was due to personal feelings, I was unwilling to do so. But now the entire army is in a state of no command, and some people want to retreat. Some people want to move forward...
No! This is not a place to stay for a long time. If you stay for a while, maybe the shells will come! So whether you are moving forward or retreating, you must make a decision immediately!
So I grabbed the rifle and fired two shots into the sky, shouting at the group of cadres fiercely: "Don't make a noise! The communications soldier, contact the superior immediately and ask them to designate a commander! Instructor Xie, immediately count the senior cadres in our department who have combat capabilities for the superiors to choose! All other troops, the company commander who died in the battalion commander, and the platoon commander who died in the company commander!"
"yes!"
"yes!"
...
Everything began to go in an orderly manner. The cadres who were still arguing just now looked at me in amazement, perhaps thinking: Who is this guy? The entire army was ordered to be directed as if they were instructed by arms.
Actually, at this time, I really had the ambition to control this army under my command with a gun! I was originally a regiment commander and had the ability. But I knew that this would definitely not work. If I could grab the position of the regiment commander by firing two shots, then this would not be a unit. The result of doing so would only make the situation worse, and it might even evolve into a confrontation of forces!
So there is only one best and fastest solution, that is, let the superior decide, and no one can say anything!
But I also know that there will be a consequence of decisions made by superiors, that is, superiors will not consider our casualties, nor will they pay attention to the enemy's interlude route, nor will they care whether the enemy will set up another ambush on the road ahead. Their order will always be: "Abuse all difficulties, attack! Attack! Attack again..."
But now I can’t care about so much, so I will leave this place of right and wrong first. But... what will be the way I wait in front of us?
